Author Topic: Nintendo announces new system code named Nx and smartphone games  (Read 1595 times)

they haven't really revealed anything

to my understanding they were talking about mobile games or w/e and just said it as a side note to make sure people didn't think they were abandoning more traditional gaming hardware stuff
o ok

i think it's a great idea for them to move to smartphones. last year there were a huge amount of people that were playing a pokemon red rom on their phones.

Hopefully it's something like the GameCube, or at least an actual console where the main attraction isnt motion control.
I was thinking of buying another GameCube just so I can play windwaker and ocarina of time.

What would NX even stand for
Nintendo X????
actually
1. NES
2. SNES
3. Gameboy
4. Nintendo 64
5. Gameboy Advance
6. Wii
7. DS
8. Wii U
9. 3DS

Actually, If you want to call the 3ds to new one too then idk, its a bit sketchy
Unless I'm missing a major console, then they probably called it X as 10. If you want to count Virtual Boy then I dunno.

probably 4ds, would doubt they're putting wii u in the can yet

nal there's also game and watch, not sure if that counts but also the wii u came after 3ds if im not mistaken

also now that i think more, smartphone games, could this be their first step into releasing games outside of their consoles? imagine years down the road, they do pc releases! pls!

Ypou forgot the Gamecube on this list.

also the ds and 3ds came out before the Wii and Wii U respectively

you also forgot GBC

idk if you want to count DSi as another generation of DS or not

i would defo count the new 3DS as another generation though because it has games which work exclusively with it. now that i think about it, the DSi did as well, didn't it?

probably not since it just had new software and hardware but played the same games, much like the New 3DS

the exclusives for the DSi just took advantage of the new hardware, also similar to the new 3ds

sorry i edited

if it had new software, new hardware, and new (exclusive) games, i would think that would justify calling it a new generation but who knows

it's like GB->GBC->GBA

gba could play GB and GBC games but it had new and improved hardware that allowed it to play newer games too

but GBA micro was just a new take on the same

I don't think that there were enough exclusive games to classify it as a new generation tho

I also think the gba had enough of it's own titles and differences to be classified as its own generation

idk if that means it isn't one though

i'm mostly referring to the new 3ds right now but you were referring to the DSi oops

was the dsi where they also implemented shop games as well i never got anything between the original DS and the 3DS

regardless the DSi is tricky to call a new generation cus the hardware changes were minimal iirc and didn't offer much more new than a camera

the new 3DS offers better hardware and new control options so i think that counts
