Due to the peoples vote, Wicherton surrenders and calls back its remaining forces. Its ranged forces stop its volley and walk shamefully back to Kirk.

So what? Do I become apart of Burellia? If I do, do I still control my nato- state?

Passages shown here in quotes say that the Elmic government doesn't really care to refer to Telar while IC.  Your point? Hey look, it's the first example of me doing it. When it was accidental. And it was also /not/ the example that caused you two to go to war!

I can't fight with y'all, really.  Diplomacy really doesn't work how you think.  Really, if you throw a fit over the slightest setback due to poor actions in-character, then I can't really expect you to carry on roleplaying intelligently.  In order to know how nations work, you need to know how people work, first. People don't just band together to fight a common enemy like in the few historical examples that have gone down in history specifically due to how incredible such a unification was. Satan won't ally with God just because Humanity is threatening the heavens.

I gave the provision for the Three World Power Tiers well in advance from you running into tribal confederations.  You ignored it.  The Third World Powers were planned to allow the Spheres of trading influence within them, so I allowed for your benefit, I guess I can't convince you, but you just happened upon them and reacted aggressively to a sensitive situation. The tiers are irrelevant. But if you insist, then allow me to produce the description of the third world.     Third World Tier

        Moderate general population density.
        Contemporary technology rare or nonexistent.
        Generally low social development.
Chance of finding an organized civilization is around 10%.
        Colonization is moderately easy.
        Resources generally untapped, or plentiful.

"Contemporary technology rare or nonexistant." "Generally low social development." "Colonization is moderately easy."

Are you expecting imperial growth to be well-received by your neighbors?  Are you expecting your fairly recent protectorates that you conquered primarily by military force to be neutral?  Are you really going to insult moderators because you have beef with them for not updating the map?  You must be joking.  This is a mature strategical RP. No, I'm not. I'm expecting uninvolved protectorate states to not riot because A: 2/5 of them were just conquered a few years back, and rising up would be Self Delete, and because B: they are uninvolved. That is what I meant by neutral. You seem to be taking the moral high ground here even though you and Plethora both have very poor English comprehension. You seem to have a lot of trouble with concepts such as sarcasm, for example. Nothing about this RP is mature. And yet again, it was not an insult. It's like if an American jokingly called a Briton a britbong, and the Briton's response was to smash a chair over the American's head. Yeah, that's mature. You seem to love avoiding the subject of taking so long to fix the map, by the way.

1.  Telar had the term "Telari" associated with them previously in this RP.  Since he had to reinforce "'Teleri' not 'Telari'" in the nation post since Telar was conceived, it means that this is a sensitive area for the nation.

2.  You conquered the regions in the end, with an economic disability for just a while.  Considering what you got in the end, this growth was positive.  And furthermore, wouldn't the unification in this case be a failure since they lost?  While on that topic, due to the nature of the unification, the aforementioned riots in this conflict are small because the regions still suffer from the "clan identity" since unification could not be achieved efficiently.

3.  As I said before, these are not universal cases.  Dudal would be a nonsense otherwise, but you got clay from it so it can't be all bad.  But when a larger fish is introduced to your lake, you cry about it?  The world is hardly explored.  As a promise, there will not be any more major powers in the Third world.  My plan from the beginning was two, unless a player is allowed to establish themselves there (This will become available in 1850).

4.  I'm not completely sure why you think that this war is the complete end of you.  I am aware that even all of united DIMA plus another DIMA on top of that would have hell in this war.  I will not tell you why, but I know what forces we have added up in the belligerent forces, and it's insufficient to take over the UEK even in the worst case scenario for you.  Furthermore, your protectorates are not rebelling—you just have isolated and individual cases of severe civil unrest.  Most of your protectorates do not wish to comply because they see the use of force against an ally to be an untrustworthy act.  They are not rebelling.  The only act that Burellis and Telar have taken so far is attacking your colony so that you can't attack us from behind.  Further combat operations have not been declared, and the motion on the DIMA floor is still pending.

5.  I don't really understand why you should assume that sarcasm should even be used in a serious rp, but that's just my personal stance.

6.  Mods to the map when they can.  In my case, it's Saturday, and I just got lucky that I have some free time.

You become part of Burellis as annexed territory.  To answer your question, you control your country unless the nation is fundamentally changed from Wichertian culture.  You cannot control military assets, autonomous trade assets, but you have slight control over the people who live there.

Misspell it one more time and by Telar's hand there won't be enough left of the UEK's empire to populate a small island if it means the destruction of all that exists, so help me God.
update the map and ill stop calling telari-owned things telari
That's your warning shot.  Next time I'll go for the jugular.

Did you have reason to doubt my resolve?  Did I have any reason to consider your response to be anything other than a "Challenge accepted." given that you proceeded to push the button I'd clearly labeled "Challenge Accepted"?  When I blocked shipping would have been the time to tell me "Slow down there Pleth, that was OOC, I'm just pulling your leg.  Just update the stupid map."  And when I said that I was under the impression that SWAT was handling it would have been a good time to bug SWAT to update the map instead of that last quote.

On the other hand, yes, I did go overboard, and I let OOC blend with IC, which, yes, is unprofessional and ruins RPs.  I am at fault too.

As far as unprofessionalism, you're right.

Have you seen our track record though?

  • I ended Anagaea I with a salvo of nuclear missiles in response to the invasion of an ally that wasn't really even on the hackjob map.
  • SWAT created gravitanium.
  • The first Telar had teleportation and scanning capabilities several centuries ahead of its time.
  • PHMA Rape Train.
  • I unilaterally put in a tech limit in Naw III semi-consciously to maintain my dominance and marketed it as an attempt to maintain sanity and drove blazer and SWAT (Lancelot too?  grunter even?  I forget.) to jump ship.
  • SWAT and I had a Cold War that unofficially stretched between RPs because neither of us felt that we could trust the other as far as we could throw him.
  • Issues in my personal life can bleed into RPs I'm in, and the end of my rope is in sight right now like it hasn't been in almost four years.

We are obviously not professionals, and I'm sorry that that's the case.  We do our best most of the time, but we are humans with faults and biases like anyone else (which is a big part of why I didn't ask for administrator position and haven't been quick to use it).  If you think you can do better somewhere else, you're probably right and I wish you all the best there.

This is also why you need three moderators with nations uninvolved with each other to have a truly fair RP, so that you don't wind up with any kind of feedback loop in the moderation.

idk maybe you can get someone completely uninvolved with the roleplay itself too

man, i'm sorry for my blow up earlier

i'll admit that i get pissy and i've admitted this before, it's just that i get really mad when things are poorly explained or otherwise don't make sense.

i'm maintaining my resignation from the rp, though, not that you want me back

idk maybe you can get someone completely uninvolved with the roleplay itself too

this is precisely why i enjoy jairo's rps, unfortunately he's recently stopped doing them it seems

-nvm-

some personal issues sprang up

I wasn't really in the mood to talk about it so I locked the thread

I support the idea of another moderator, however, they usually fall inactive or those best suited do not usually take part in my RPs.

Either way, I will continue this tomorrow when I calm down.

The citizens feel a bit more protected. Harold becomes a normal citizen (hes fine with it). The artillery and weapons are given to the Burellian army.

If I could please request that RPing about the Northern War could stop until Noon, PST tomorrow, that would be great.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  I do admit that I hastily founded this RP without clear ideas established, and while I did add them soon after it started, I did a poor job of introducing them properly.  That being said, I will attempt to rectify it by pushing out the resource maps, firmly defining rules regarding NPCs, guides on how to find them, etc..  It will be work, but please bear with me until this is finished.  Sorry.

But not all of the citizens are fine with the new change. A revolution group springs up secretly in the sewers and underground of Wicherton. They believe that Wicherton should be a free nation again, and they express that in protests, riots, and sometimes vandalism.

The military police are called out to extinguish the revolution movement.

Meanwhile, newspaper publishers are continually offered funds to release pro-Burellian information, and to keep their silence as well.

Former president Harold Charels is called into the Burellian advisory circle as a cultural advisor.

Vlast continues to request the support of DIMA.

Harold is pleased to accept, and joins the advisory circle. The revolution group uses a different tactic to avoid detection of their lair. They would walk off into thick crowds. They would also wear Burellian-loyalist cloths to disguise themselves.

All that Burellis can do is send you supplies, so yeah, we do that.

Security at the government building in Kirk is tightened.  Security detail to all government officials is increased.  Viceroy Nathanael Hersche III is appointed in Wicherton.

Burellis attempts to tactically win the people over by planning and beginning on the construction of rail lines connecting major cities.  Additionally, telegraph networks are planned as well.  Two memorials are also planned to be built, one in the center of a city near the border where the battles were fought, and one in a square in Kirk, to commemorate the loss of life of both Burellian and Wichertian soldiers.  Another is planned in Durreg, Naxore, as the government has done poorly to recognize this.

Economically, Burellis connects Wicherton to the DIMA trade network.
