Remember, their appearance is based on their state of mind.
They probably looked so tired because they were stressed about finding malachite and peridot.

yea i recall,
but i thought that has to do with age.
also pearl didnt look so 'eh' after sleeping, and garnet, the only one who stayed up longer
'slept' quickly
