Best way to get over social anxiety is to force yourself into social environments.
I was the same way till I went to college.

You'll get better.

Stepping in real quick to say that you don't "get over" social anxiety if you actually have the mental disorder.

i'm not trying to start an argument here, but it's not something that you can force upon yourself. me and my therapist are working on a tier list of what social things i fear from 1 to 10. i'm currently at 2, 10 is talking to people. you can't jump on it right away, too hard to explain.

Stepping in on your stepping in. You don't 'just get over' social anxiety but you can work it away. Which is basically getting over the fears. Or you could be that guy who just destroys their body with medicine.

Stepping in on you stepping in on me stepping in.
The only way to get over mental disorders is to learn how to avoid it, it will not be worked away, it will always be there. Unless you destroy your emotions with medicine, like you said.

i was going to smoke some kush with a friend, but he didn't tell me more people were going to be there so i didn't go. i don't take meds so weed only seems to help lower my anxiety a lot.

Weed > Emotion killers.
Better happy than empty.

i was really never into medicine. i used to take ritalin for my adhd and i was basically a zombie, zero emotions.

it was alright in a sense. i actually did my work. on the other hand, it's a constant battle between depression and loneliness, usually it's a stalemate, working together to drive me crazy.

did you have a problem with focus at all? I'm wanting to do it next or senior year.

They will never loving stop saying stupid stuff like it, never

I'm so glad someone else is sane like you...

I left public school a while ago
tbh it was mostly because I was lazy. the next year, I'd have had no choice but to do both marching band and concert band, but I only wanted to do concert band, so I just quit and was homeschooled instead
it sucked. I didn't learn anything because I didn't do any of the work. my mom was my "teacher" which meant I could get away with it, and if I have the choice of doing something boring or not doing something boring, ten times out of ten I'll choose not doing something boring
it really wasn't fun. it stressed me out for real, because even though I actively made the decision to not do my work, I was still constantly afraid of my mom getting upset and grounding me from the only things I got any enjoyment out of at that point
almost every morning, instead of going straight home, I'd drive for an extra half hour or so to make sure my mom would have already left for work when I finally got home
then we moved to kentucky for a while, and I tried public school again. I didn't like that particular public school, so I asked my mom to put me in another one and she just... took me out of school. like, entirely. I got my GED a couple of months ago
my sister had moved back to where we lived before (alabama, our dad still lived here) just a few days after school started, and then a bit after she took me out, my mom moved back too, so it was just me and my mom's boyfriend (basically my stepdad at this point) in kentucky and he worked all day, so I was really lonely and bored all the time
now my mom's made me move back to alabama, and coming back to this house brought bad a lot of bad memories and emotions from all the time I spent here stressed out about homeschooling. I guess I'm less lonely, but I still feel pretty bad

if I had just not been lazy two years ago maybe I'd be happy. I doubt it though

edit: im the emperor of talking too much

on the topic of middle school, there is this really really annoying douchebag in my math class who just keeps saying "bruh" and acts like a loving idiot all the time
he keeps messing around with this girl who he talks to and who sits right behind him and even does it in the middle of tests sometimes, so its hard to concentrate
i tell him to stop being annoying and he keeps saying stuff like "its a free country i can do wut i want!!"
so i told him "would you kill someone because its a free country" and he didn't reply
i sit right next to this kid so i have to deal with his stuff all the time

-snip-

I can kinda feel you. I was full time homeschooled in 1st grade and from 3rd grade through 10th. I'm very glad I was too. With only parents and siblings to worry about, I could get more work done than a public schooled student who has to worry about pass times, extra activities, and assemblies. I very quickly ended up ahead of almost everyone in my age range. Whenever I hit a tough spot then, such as algebra (took me three entire years just for Algebra 1), I could sit back and take my time on learning it without falling far behind. I also learned independent working skills, which most kids at my high school can't even dream of doing and constantly need teachers to hold their hands through everything.

But I had big problems with laziness too. My mom was getting pissed off and would always say things like, "Listen, I'm really gonna put you in public school! Do you want that??" and I'd just nonchalantly say "no". The summer after my sophomore year, my mom finally put me into summer school, which was only a month long and to basically get my feet wet. It went okay so from then on, I was part time enrolled at the local high school. It's pretty helpful though, because now I have teachers to which I can ask more insightful questions and they'll actually know the answers. I also have due dates on things and require scheduling. It's also helpful to my mom, who full time homeschools my other siblings (4 out of 5 of them).
