Author Topic: should marijuana be legalized for recreational use?  (Read 9373 times)

Wow ok. Marijuana use has indirectly caused deaths. Does that satisfy?

Food use has indirectly caused deaths by making people morbidly obese, outlaw foods!

Marijuana is more harmful than food product, also unlike food product it impairs judgement.

Well then read about weed and how people have died from using weed.

i think it should be, personally

im just gonna give my own spin. through my experiences, ive kind of developed a whole new outlook on drugs. i no longer look at them as "drugs". they aren't these super scary, horrible, addicting, life changing substances that've been locked away and deemed illegal because of their unhealthiness and because of the fact they kill people

i mean, dont get me wrong. they can do that. they can very easily be addictive life changing experiences, but its not like thats what they are set in stone to do. they weren't put on earth for the explicit reason of ruining the perfect utopia were so accustomed to. they aren't biologically programmed to ruin your life. and yes, im well aware drugs change the chemical processes in your brain, but personally i can safely say every decision ive made, high or not, has been my own 100% cognitive decision. its like people think once you do a drug you just lose all control over yourself. thats not how it works. but im not saying you cant lose yourself to drugs. you easily can. ive seen it happen. but if you're responsible and limit yourself, i think you can easily do anything. self-discipline is a very admirable trait. i respect hard drug users who live very healthy, normal lives. they're living proof that my philosophy on drugs is some-what credible because just like the people that have lost themselves, ive seen the people that can handle themselves.

basically, they're just substances that people use as an outlet. and thats why soooooo many people do marijuana. its a safe, reliable outlet

now of course, i wont sugar coat it. yes its a drug and yes you inhale smoke and yes its not healthy, but you can change the way you intake marijuana. the marijuana itself isnt whats hurting your lungs, its the fact you're filling your lungs with smoke. you dont HAVE to do it like that. theres plenty of new, healthier ways to smoke. and yes marijuana has side-effects, but so does all modern medicine. if i smoke marijuana, my heart rate will increase, i may experience paranoia, and i may experience hallucinations. but at least i dont have to worry about possible shooting pains, tinnitus, joint pain, anxiety attacks, and even various forms of cancer, or even everyone's favorite: auhtithm. and im sure someone has died due to marijuana. i would say no one has died directly from marijuana, but im sure someones had some sort of negative allergic reaction and died, and im sure theres been plenty of deaths where marijuanas been involved, but no ones over-dosed. marijuanas chemical changing has yet to be the sole reason for someones death. people die from everything. literally everything. literally everything can be the instigator for death.

marijuana just clearly isnt as harmful as some things that are legal. many people abuse alcohol and cigarettes cause it is peoples only legal outlets. it isnt a crazy idea that a lot of people would instantly kick alcohol and cigarettes right now if marijuana was available widely

but y'know. thats just my opinion.

At this point there's no point in humoring general. I've done plenty of research on marijuana and if it's safe or not because people I care about use marijuana recreationally. At first I thought the same things general does, but after reading into it more, there's really nothing conclusive to worry about. It's pretty obvious general hasn't done any sort of research beforehand.

I don't want to smoke marijuana personally, however I wanted to be aware of the side-effects because like I said, people that I care about do smoke it. I wanted to know that they're not in harm's way because of their lifestyle, and they're not.

I have done research. It does do harm but if you have it in moderate and small amounts then it's less likely to cause harm. 4 joints a day is harmful whereas 1 a week or less wouldn't be as harmful.

So by General's logic, the only thing we should ever ingest is a gaseous solution consisting of 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.039% carbon dioxide, and negligible amounts of other gases.

Better not get those water vapours in your lungs kids. A loving sauna will kill you dead.
