wow what an argument. so tolerant and inclusive!
Thats a tad generalistic

Eh... Maybe not conducive to productive debate.

wow what an argument.
That's exactly what I'm saying to you.
Your argument is very poor and your don't give a single forget to even attempt to address the problems with it

Thats a tad generalistic
I try not to generalize people.
But in this case the generalization fits him perfectly.

You are suggesting that the country is going back in progress to a point where people were discriminated, shunned, and even lynched because of their skin color. Just because a restaurant wouldn't cater for a gay wedding because it is against their beliefs.
People are discriminated against, shunned, and even killed (admittedly, lynching is a relic of the past) for being LGBT. This restaurant is not the problem itself, but a symptom.

Oh wait, dumb question. You're a Christian, of course you do
Please don't do this. It makes you very easy to dismiss.

^This is what I'm getting at, Alt.

and even killed (admittedly, lynching is a relic of the past) for being LGBT.

only in saudi arabia! but apparently some restaurant in a small town in indiana is a much more pressing issue

I haven't been following this story very closely, but from what I can gather the pizzeria doesn't want to refuse service to gay people. If so, what's the big deal? Who cares what someone believes in as long as they're not discriminating against anybody?

On a related note, the Indiana law is clear-cut discrimination. If you actually believe that businesses and communities should be able to systemically discriminate against and force out people under 'religious freedom', you might as well defend the rights of bus lines to force black people to sit in the back rows.

i only support their denial of service if it goes against their religion. which it is
What if the customer(s) is/are starfishs.

But to compare it to the civil rights issues in the 50's is outrageous.

What if the customer(s) is/are starfishs.
that goes reguardless

The thread isn't about treatment of gays in Saudi Arabia. I think it's safe to say we don't condone that either.

My impression is they want to refuse to cater for gay people, which is a service that they provide.

But to compare it to the civil rights issues in the 50's is outrageous.

This is totally fair. It's a civil rights issue involving discrimination against a certain set of people, justified largely by tradition and religious belief.

Please don't do this. It makes you very easy to dismiss.
Eh, true enough. I don't normally say things like that, the only reason I did is what he's doing is also very easy to dismiss, and he's continuing even now to do it

only in saudi arabia!
False. One if my teachers personally knew someone who was beaten and injured just for being gay. Continue denying reality all you want

only in saudi arabia! but apparently some restaurant in a small town in indiana is a much more pressing issue
Yeah because we, as voters in the United States, have just as much power to control legislation in Saudi Arabia as we do in Indiana.

the indiana law doesn't permit or endorse discrimination. it's only usable as a legal defence if it the defendent can prove that the government's actions "substantially burden" the defendant's religious values. you can't just make up some insane religion in 30 seconds and say that it calls for murdering gay people; it needs to be demonstrated that you follow an actual religion and that the government's ordinances are infringing unnecessarily on your rights

My impression is they want to refuse to cater for gay people, which is a service that they provide.
i think it is specifically gay weddings

not sure

IT IS ONLY FOR A HYPOTHETICAL GAY WEDDING CEREMONY. HOW DO PEOPLE NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND THIS AT THIS POINT?
