Author Topic: Do you believe in any kind of afterlife?  (Read 11962 times)

This would be super chill

But anyway, to respond to a post you made a few pages back, Im generally a "don't give a forget atheist" and I don't have a neck beard/wear fedoras, but it does piss me off when someone is telling you that gays are evil and you're going to hell and they're totally allowed to do that, but if I call them out on their bullstuff I'm an "atheist neck beard friend." That seems to be a double standard. Now of course the obvious difference is that I have no religion while the person preaching does have one, but if they are saying offensive/stupid stuff I really don't care if what they are saying is part of their religion or not. Idk, I really don't get into religous arguments often, but I don't feel like someone should be immune to criticism because they believe in a god and I dont.
Negative attention is what lasts longer than positive attention.

Most christians are accepting of gays, even though they don't believe what they do is right. It's just the obnoxious one that get all the attention.

Nobody can deny an afterlife actually being a thing. However, nobody can prove it either. Saying it doesn't exists as fact is ignorant to do though.

basically all this

this

I have a friend that I frequent convo's such as these that go on about alchemy, meditation, general shoot the stuff about FEMA camps, yatta yatta. But whenever I'm talking to anyone about anything relating to the existence of an afterlife It's dearly important that you mention that one thing at the end which is that no one can prove nor disprove the existence of said afterlife.

And on the topic of Athiests, sure idgaf if you're one (same for all other religions) but as long as you're not spouting your bullstuff in my face then do whatever

also forget the Quran, that stuff is sketch.

Well, wouldn't an afterlife do a bunch of stuff that violates laws of physics or something?
Not to try and discredit the statement, I understand the point, but it would involve some whacky quantum teleportation stuff in order to transfer the consciousness of one being to another.

Maybe that's the secret after all. Personal teleporters powered by Soylent Green.

Despite it not making sense logically to us in this dimension, does not mean it isn't possible.

also would like to discuss the brewing stuffstorm that will be created right now which is Religion. thoughts?

No, this is an afterlife thread not religion.

While this is partly true, fact of the matter is there is no way to know absolutely for certain whether or not there is an afterlife. It's simply unprovable

That's kind of what i said. It can't be proven nor disproven.

Nah.

The idea that it can't be proven or disproven is stupid too, by the way. There is no way for a consciousness to just magically change where it is. And then what? Your fresh clone rolls out of the pod? Congrats, you died! Prepare to live for eternity in your body as of 80 years of age!

Simply denying it does not disprove it's possibility and it's kind of ignorant to say.

We live in the 3rd dimension. We do not even know the possibility of what the fourth dimension is, lets say it's an afterlife, however, we can't say it's possible because we can't see it or experience it.

Here we see a happy blue circle. The happy blue circle only knows the color blue and red, being round, and happiness. The sad green triangle only sees red, green, sadness and being a triangle. Lets say blue circle has a friends and what not and they're discussing possibilities. There is no way for blue to prove what sadness, green, or what a triangle is, even though it's actually in the "universe" which is, this square image. He's stuck in 2D and can only see red walls.

We are in 3D and can see everything in the 2D image, but blue or green can't prove, nor deny the existence of each other, even though they exist together.

What I'm saying is there could be another realm or whatever that we cannot see due to our limitations as humans. There could also NOT be another realm, and what we see is what we get and that is it. However, there is no proving, nor disproving the other realm. Now I'm sure you're gonna just say "nah it isn't possible" and I'm okay with that, just know that you're being ignorant for denying something you don't know as fact.

We live in the 3rd dimension.
Stopping here, you don't know what you're talking about. Not that I expected you to, but I was hoping you would at least try not to be obvious about it.
