Author Topic: [FORUM REQUEST] Functionality for basic scripts in topics.  (Read 2154 times)

Perhaps link it to a minigame via a script and post scores on a topic.  Perhaps link it to the server and have it constantly update the ping to a topic, which players are on the server, maybe even keep a small dynamically-moving chat window.

Yes. You can do all that just fine with what I said.

Just host the script yourself and provide its output through a SVG file, then use [img] with it.

I know what is required, but I don't know how to do that, hence why I have an S&R topic about it.

An image wouldn't work as well for chat due to the fact that you'd need to continuously refresh the page the image is hosted on in order to see it updated

Well it depends on what you want to make it in? Any language that can run a HTTP server.

There's thousands of ways to do it. How am I supposed to know specifically which?

I don't think he's asking for one particular type of solution. instead of being difficult, just give one example of a solution
then again, I doubt swat one will actually be able to make it himself. so doing anything except actually making it for him is kinda pointless anyway

Nailed it.

What I am asking for is a practical solution in the form of a finished product.  He is right that I would not be able to make it myself.  I put "request" in the title because I am asking for a specific thing as I am not script-savvy, hence why this topic exists.
