What is Tower Unite?
Tower Unite is the standalone, spiritual successor to Gmod Tower, by PixelTail Games. The game is a social game where you can have your own condo to customize, a plaza to hang out in, and gamemodes to play. Currency in the game, called Units, are used to purchase items such as condo items. It should be noted that when Tower Unite is officially released, Gmod Tower will have a going away party, then shut down for good. The game will be $15, with no microtransactions, subscriptions, or premium currencies. The game will run on the Unreal 4 Engine.
UPDATE 5/10/2015: The kickstarter failed, but the devs are seeking indiegogo and patreon. They have also made a survey in order to ask for feedback and a mailing list that you can subscribe to for updates.

It's not being "replaced"?
People can still play it.

After Tower Unite is released on Steam, GMTower will host an enormous going away party in the servers, and will finally close the doors for good. Tower Unite will run in place of GMTower.

didn't tower get a huge overhaul like two weeks ago?

They got that overhaul around Feburary 10th, I believe.

i love social games

I wonder what will happen to the community made player models and stuff

Looks good though, can't wait to see how it turns out in the end

The copyrighted stuff from GMTower is not getting put into Tower Unite for obvious reasons if that's what you're talking about.

Just pledged $5. Wish I could pledge $10 but my visa gift card doesn't have $10.
