I don't know about you, but people have different expectations for different people; the guy that jokes around constantly will get a free pass because he's never serious and it's a waste of time to try to argue with him anyway. Well, at least I don't think there's a point in arguing with someone who isn't serious. It's basically the difference between a comedian telling offensive jokes and an average person doing the same, you don't take the comedian as seriously because it's just what the guy does- you don't have to like him though, you just don't respond because it's expected of the guy. You're the average guy, so everybody is surprised because you don't have a history of making offensive joke posts. Nobody is evaluating you on a double-standard because they're simultaneously taking your history into account when they're looking at that post or just moving on. You could probably say that the standard includes the personality of the person, nobody is unfairly evaluating you here.
I can accept this.

I haven't kept up but lmao "Double standard"? The difference between that article about the brony killing himself and alyx vance's story is that there's somewhat of a personal connection to the latter Self Delete. forgetin nobody here would say "is the train okay" to the brony's family or friends, so why should it make it any different when somebody asks "Is the bullet okay?" to somebody who KNEW the Self Delete victim; if you don't understand this then there's something wrong with you. And don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning the act of making fun of Self Delete victims, I'm poking holes in your stuffty story

I don't accept your apology and nobody else should, it's halfhearted bullstuff. Maybe if you hadn't posted it in the first place there wouldn't be an issue? I don't know, maybe it's a little outlandish but isn't this entirely your fault, molten? Instead of trying to put everyone else on trial, maybe it's time to hang up the towel and forget off

Thank you for not using insults and actually thinking. I didn't exactly consider it personal because alyx said he barely knew the kid. I guess mine was somewhat more extreme but it was still bullstuff that the others got away. Double standard disproven.

I keep seeing this double standard talk but I don't see where it comes into play. Explain

Sigh.

I was an unbiased person and I did not take Molten's side.

I think I just ripped a hole in the quantum continuum of the universe across space-time.

people get angry at a joke molt made where the exact same people who said it on another post are bashing him for it

No excuse. That just makes you look immature.

I don't take anything too seriously anymore, and that includes this thread.

It would be immature to think that any of this really meant anything.

I'm not understanding the point of this drama. Molten made a joke about someone who committed Self Delete, and so now one of the edgiest forums on the internet is condemning him for it? This sounds like some Grade A Hypocrisy to me.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you ask me, this should have died long ago.

Pretty much sums it up. The excuse people are going with is that "he's annoying" and "he's a brony".

It was wrong to joke about it in the first place, but bashing him for the same thing other people did is downright stupid.
