Detailed: Kimon derails thread to argue, goes ballistic and embarasses himself

i have decided that since you guys don't actually know the people that i claim to know would be offended, i technically have no proof of my claim, and i will refrain from discussing this further until there is 'proof' of a couple of people getting angry. for now i'm just leaving it at i think it's going too far and i don't think they're funny.

i sorta addressed this in the drama, it's because i know more people than me that would find those jokes distasteful, but since you guys dont know them, and they dont even have a forum account for that matter, i'm not gonna bother.

The people he claims to know don't even use the forums. He's showing them stuff we say so they get offended and he can look like the moral hero to his friends.

kimon seriously.  yosher is black.  i don't see him complaining or otherwise acting offended.  you absolutely don't need to act like a knight in a shining fedora out to save him from the tribal quips, because i'm 100% sure he'd chew them out himself.

well i am no expert but it's probably the fact that i'm one of the only people here who should be offended by this in the first place. i'm not, so once again i am asking: why should you be. you are arguing on behalf of your friends who aren't even here

well it's not really "for me" but that still leaves the question: who is he fighting for? his friends who find this offensive but don't even know that these jokes were made? this is just a stupid assumption of mine but i am totally willing to bet that at least 50% of those friends who would find this offensive are not black. because i have learned that the only people who give enough of a stuff to complain about this in the first place aren't even the butt of the joke. i still think this is just some stupid scheme for kimon to make himself feel better

You explicitly said they do not have forum accounts. Do these people just browse the forums regularly without ever having bought the game or what? How are they getting offended by what is said here?

there are tribal jokes like this everywhere, (yes the ape joke is common) and even though there are many people who this would not offend them, because they know it is in good fun, it can encourage tribals without anyone meaning for it to do so.

lemme address this quote specifically to re-iterate that calling black people apes in the same manner that the jokes in that thread did are very common.

again i want to leave this off here by saying that i don't think you should perpetuate these jokes because it can have many unintended side effects, some that i did not list in this post. you guys can make these jokes, im not going to try to stop you anymore (keep this in mind before replying) but i want you to keep in mind that there probably are genuine tribals on this forum, and you might not be able to distinguish whether they're serious or if they're goofing around. i don't think you can ever be too careful with that, and i certainly don't want to accidentally encourage someone's tribal beliefs.
