"Man, you really are a grunt."

Marcus and his team exchange nods. The men are split 50-50 on what to do; about half want to keep them alive and the other half wants to dump them anyways.

Marcus takes the Saudi radios and throws them in to the strait. He nods to his men and they secure the cement blocks and grab the soldiers. Marcus says, "Well, thanks for the heads up I suppose. At least we know what's coming. Sadly, ah, you don't seem important enough to keep alive and I'm not sure I could manage to feed another 3 mouths who aren't pulling their own weight right now. Unless you're holding out on us and have something important to say, looks like you're gonna be 20,000 leagues under the sea."

They don't respond.

i might update this better later, playing red orchestra right now

it works

They don't respond.

"God rest your souls." Marcus nods and all three are thrown off the boat. "What a forgetin' waste. Bullstuff that we had to do that, and bullstuff that they want us gone."

Marcus returns to base. When they come back 3 men shorter, no one really needs an explanation. Work continues. Life goes on.

Marcus radios Grayling about the appearance of the Saudi soldiers and what they said. Some of his men set up roadblocks at the northern end of the Mackinac Bridge, using tipped cars and debris to block off the road from anything other than foot traffic.

I double over and land face-first onto the ground with Rob still on my back. I get back up after a few seconds, feeling like I've just been socked in the stomach by a truck. I make it to a fallen tree and check both of us for any entry on our vests.

"Wh-.."

David is suddenly shaken awake by the sudden lurching of the truck, looking around the surrounding environment for a moment then everyone else. As it turns out, there were sudden orders to make our way to go through Ohio on a patrol, then head Northbound towards Michigan after seeing if they can acquire access. Getting a sense of his bearings back, David soon realizes they are headed Northwest towards Ohio territory.

Making sure his equipment is still properly secured, David begins to speak. "For the last hundred miles or so, has anybody really seen anything out of the ordinary other than animals?"

Grayling would've preferred that the soldiers remained alive but understands why you got rid of them.

No entry; he couldn't have been firing anthing bigger than 5.56.

David is suddenly shaken awake by the sudden lurching of the truck, looking around the surrounding environment for a moment then everyone else. As it turns out, there were sudden orders to make our way to go through Ohio on a patrol, then head Northbound towards Michigan. Getting a sense of his bearings back, David soon realizes they are headed Northwest towards Ohio territory.

Making sure his equipment is still properly secured, David asks around if anybody's really seen anything interesting yet on the miles of road they've been on.

Joe, the guy sitting on your left, pipes up:

"I already seen a hobo forget a deer corpse and use i-"

He's cut off by Tom, the guy on his left:

"Look, we appreciate the childhood memories of how your mum got impregnated but this isn't the time nor the place. Anyway, Dave- we're patrolling radiation. I'm sure we'll find something forgeted up."

Joe is visibly offended but doesn't respond.

I wait for the man to return, he takes a step out the door and everything goes white

I cook and hurl a frag at the machine gun, hopefully putting it out of commission.
I attempt to make radio contact with base. "Base, this is Blackjack squad, do you read?!"

David pats Joe's back lightly after Tom is an starfish to him, before continuing to stare at his surroundings and dozing off once again.

Soon, they arrive in Ohio after passing over the border, it being the 2nd less radiated state under German occupation. The truck starts headed North towards Michigan, however stops at a rest-stop in the smaller town of Lodi in the middle of the night for a refill, giving them all the chance for a break. David hops from behind the truck, gesturing over to the others to follow him into the store. "Hey'a guys, maybe we could get somethin' to eat for once on this ride?"

He returns, but instead of the medical attire he was wearing a moment ago, he is in combat gear. There are also two soldiers with him, both armed.

"Bad news. We're under attack by some raiders, and they managed to get their hands on some tanks. I want you to stay here while we deal with this, alright?"

"Command here. We read you, Blackjack."

Joe and Tom both want hamburgers.

"Request medevac and reinforcements on our position; one of my men is unable to operate, he's in critical condition!"
I put lead towards the deserters.
"Ray, Jerry regroup on my pos as soon as you can!"

David agrees, and begins to walk into the store, on a quest to get three generic hamburgers for them all. However, he stops for a moment, looking through the windows to see if there's even anybody at the counter.

I put lead towards the deserters.
"Ray, Jerry regroup on my pos as soon as you can!"

"Affirmative. Sending medevac to your position."

Jerry, notably frustrated, responds to you:

"Negative. There's a ton of open ground between us. If I try getting to, you I'll get shot."

As he says shot, he hits a deserter in the head.

David agrees, and begins to walk into the store, on a quest to get three generic hamburgers for them all. However, he stops for a moment, looking through the windows to see if there's even anybody at the counter.

Nope. Empty. You find three hamburgers, though.

"Roger that."
"Alright then, we'll hold our ground until help arrives. For the time being, keep any significant targets off of me."
I fire a few more shots and reload.

David walks into the store, looking around before beginning to pick up the three hamburgers (which are hopefully packaged/sealed or something). "How convenient!"

He comes back out, climbing up into the back of the truck just before it starts to pull out and continue it's trip northwest. David hands over the hamburgers to Joe and Tom, before unwrapping his own. "Whelp, back on the road."
