That's situational. It takes quite a bit longer to sign up for an account than to type a captcha. For someone needing something immediate and not already being signed up to anything that can quickly host publicly, it would be more convient. I'm just nitpicking a situation though, in general a service like puush is going to be faster.

i can't think of a single basic image hosting service that requires you to have an account to upload

also puush doesn't really count because you can't upload without the client; pomf is the best as far as immediate upload goes
