Author Topic: can we please stop being so loving hostile  (Read 25043 times)

a lot of hostility is created from the need to react to someone's saltiness. there's a big "he started it!" mentality in terms of arguments here, where people just assume it's okay to react to hostility with hostility.
obviously it's okay to call someone out for saying something, it is a forum after all, but don't fan the flames and then complain that there's too many fires.

IE, i often call people "dorks" or "clowns", etc. when i think they're acting foolish, because having a statement where i say "why are you doing _______, you bozo" makes them actually have to respond to my comment. if i say "why are you doing ______, you loving idiot", you've automatically made your argument weaker because anyone can tell you to stop being edgy and calm down.

i remember two years ago, taboo said something i disagreed with, so i messaged him this long diatribe on how "i usually respect him, but this is too far", cus i assumed i'm smart and i'm in the right morally, and i remember he responded with

"lol okay"

and i realized i was creating the problem. i chose to respond in a silly, condescending way, and when he basically shut me down, i realized the way he felt about what he was saying was not the way i thought he felt about what he was saying. we can't all be in the right, we're all in a gray area. realize that you can exacerbate a situation just as easily as you can respond to it reasonably, or even make a joke out of it.

if you say something stupid you deserve to be told you're stupid.
I don't think you're in the best position to say this lel

You really need to learn how to stop posting...

I'm perfectly fine at being called out for my stupidity when it arises.

Maybe if topics like "Five loving Nights at the handicapped kids adventure land called Freddies" didn't exist, we wouldn't have problems.

Are you talking about the FNAF megathread or is there a thread really called "Five loving Nights at the handicapped kids adventure land called Freddies"

this stuff is too funny lol, a phone number is a phone number, not some special interest folder
So you'd be totally fine with someone spreading your phone number around without you knowing? I sorta doubt that, lol.

If that happened, I highly doubt that I wouldn't know about it.  So if it did, I'd just get a new one.  Not that hard lol

I'm not sure if you realise, but the internet is very big.

So if it did, I'd just get a new one.
Wow, must be nice having nobody contacting you.

Yeah no stuff, sherlock.

so you would expect bad stuff to happen to your phone due to a spread around number

Did you screw up the quotes or something...? Or if you are trying to actually communicate something, please do a better job of it.

that depends on who has it, mostly it's just scammers who contact me anyways so that doesn't matter to me

If you weren't so dedicated to be an starfish, then you could probably understand my post.

Some (read: most) people have actual important uses for their phones. Getting your phone number changed in the records of, say, your college or workplace, can be an incredible pain in the ass. Changing one's number is more often than not not an option for people.

Sure, bud. Either way, I am still not seeing what you are trying to say.
