why is build "stealing" such a big deal, like if i witnessed someone claiming my build as theirs, id have the satisfaction to know that i must be a better builder than that poor sucker lol

Depends. If your main concern is the build itself then yeah you're right, buildbot is gonna ignore any and all events, but lemme re-quote myself cause I love to do it-

unless they want to save without events and risk losing events on other bricks.

"events on other bricks" being important events that allow a build to function, which, on all of my builds, there tend to be a lot. On a typical build I have a total of maybe 200 to 1000 lines, depending on the complexity and scale of the project. So while someone could easily save my work and buildbot it, it's either not going to work or they're going to have to go through and replace all of the events, to which I say have fun and good luck.

Nobody is fighting. It's, at best, debate, at worst, an argument. Methods of preventing build stealing and the futileness of said effort is all that's being discussed right now. If you wanna see fighting, go to the "Can we please stop being so loving hostile" topic.

How is it stupid? The entire point of the topic is build stealing, and we're debating methods to either protect your build, or how there's no possible way to protect the build.

If you find that so stupid, why don't you do everyone a favor and get off the topic, that way those of us who find some significance in the thread can continue on with what we're going to do regardless of your opinion.
