Author Topic: MW2 Terminal w/ Default Bricks  (Read 1866 times)

Okay, so I know what you're thinking. Another DM Map. Ugh. BUT: Here me out.

I've wanted to play a Terminal map for a long time now. I've heard that there is one floating around, but I didn't care to find it, and more specifically, I wanted to make one using Default Bricks. One reason I do this is because it gives those joining my server a short load time. Another is that I like the simplicity of building with Default Bricks. Lastly, it is good to have saves that use only default bricks, because you can use them on practically any server.

Now, on to the actual topic. I am in the process of recreating the Terminal map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 using only Default Bricks. When it is done I have hopes of hosting a simple Free-for-All gamemode on it, and, if there is enough request, possibly Slayer TDM. Any suggestions may be looked at, but I can't promise I will use them all. BE AWARE this project is VERY early in development, and isn't close to being done.

Of course pictures will be updated when I get the time, and whenever updates are made to the build that are worth showing. As for the pictures currently in the topic, you may be looking at the front of the plane and be thinking, "well, that's a bit strange looking," and you wouldn't be wrong. The problem is making such a spherical shape is so very hard with default bricks. I found that way to make it, and I like it enough, so I'm keeping it, at least until someone suggests a better design.

Blatant bump. Not even going to try and hide it.  :cookieMonster:

One suggestion you should definitely take - the floor is too blank, try adding tiles, you could use 2x print, or if you want to save bricks or just have different tiled areas, use 4x plates and colour them differently in a diagonal pattern.

Good idea yeah, I'll probably use the 4x plates version, i'd have to look at a reference picture again
It really depends on the actual picture, because at this point brick count isn't really a problem (yet)
