Reloading is broken just like in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

If my gun is set to hotkey 3 say I have 11/12 ammo left. I switch weapons then switch back to my gun (hotkey 3). I now have 12/12 ammo.

There is no reason to reload, switching weapons through the hotkey is much faster.

i didn't know any of this

this is disappointingly useful

but i'm gonna do a melee run anyway

Xarcane_TN has finally gotten to play it for a couple of hours, of course, he loves it, right now it is a little choppy, but he can fix it by messing with Graphic settings

It's been an issue since Fallout 3. There were even mods to fix this since Fallout 3 and I'm not surprised Bethesda didn't choose to fix it again. People say it's a bug but after 3 games in a row I doubt it.

To be fair, Fallout 4 is made on the same engine that all the bethesda oblivionesque games are made on. They really just slapped a stuff ton of improvements on it and stuff, but that's it. It's kinda shameful.

On the bright side, i hope it uses the same GECK functions, because I can't wait to start stuffting out mods faster than the CZ57 Avenger stuffs out bullets

Not wanting to dig into an argument about why one is better than the other, but what was the major difference in quest/dungeon mechanics between New Vegas and 3?

I don't think either were majorly different.
As for story telling, I think both were pretty clunky at times, and could be made ludicrous depending on how you applied the games mechanics to them. I liked both stories though, but felt more involved in 3. It felt personal, whereas in New Vegas, I never felt a motivation to do anything after catching up to Benny.
I'll do a compare and contrast in the future. For now just enjoy the game and have fun.

Now I don't want to be judgmental about a game I haven't played yet and don't plan on playing for at least a year or two, but its well worth noting that the plot elements presented in fallout 4 will either make or break it.

Fallout 3 is considered the 'plot' of the entire series, as it goes over the fight for greater good, or basically the alliance with the brotherhood of steel to defeat the enclave and super mutants and purify the water. The player felt a sense of completion, and could align with either a good or bad side. Even in the dlc The Pitt (my personal favorite) players could either side with the people or the tyrant, putting the alignment of the player in either jesus or devil.

Fallout new vegas experimented with different plot aspects, which many people feel caused the plot to fall apart and seem inferior, especially when compared to fallout 3. Players were given different alignments, all of which were evil in some way. By the time players finished the game, they felt a lack of the sense of completion. People complained online that no matter what branch they took in the plot, the ending never satisfied.

If fallout 4 taps into the fallout 3 method of delivering plot, I think it might be considered the best fallout game of the entire series. It seems that it has so much potential at the moment.

If they od on the faction stuff again, well, rip.

I love the game but it's true that the games UI was created for consoles and controllers.

Anyone have a solution for the following?:

Spoiler! Sturges got into the full suit of power armor you acquire from the roof of the museum at Concord when back at Sanctuary, and then ditched it somewhere.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Does anyone have any idea where it might be? Spoiler!

Doesn't it show up on your map?

I've since found an incomplete suit of armor, I'll have to load an autosave and see if it turns up.

why does this game run so stuffty and why is it locked to an obscenely low fps

Probably because you're actually playing Call of Duty.
