Right. I love how Bethesda keeps making a good game but adding stuff DLC because they rely on the modding community. Like no starfishs finish the game and give us good official content. I don't want to rely on forgeters from the community for a enjoyable experience

I wouldn't say the base game is good, I'd say it's okay. The DLCs are all terrible though. Except maybe Point lookout, probably the only good DLC from Fallout 3.

New Vegas not only a good game but the DLCs were great. People hated that loving casino DLC because of the harsh atmosphere and the collar bombs but that's to be expected from casuals. I loved it.

Anyone encountered this with WW? My cages won't close when powered. I have them wired up, but they just won't close.

The only reason I can suspect is because of an overlap in signals, which is a common problem. But that doesn't make sense for two reasons here.
1. The cage closes with power, so if it has multiple on signals it should stay closed.
2. Cages seem to require direct power, via cables, not wirelessly via conduits/pylons. It shouldn't recieve multiple power sources unless I wire it to multiple ones.

So, my cages insist they are powered, but won't close. Any suggestions?
I just built a lovely arena, with remote controls for doors, cages and even emergency turrets, but I can't even get the cages to close and trap something.
By the by, I'm on Xbox, so can't correct the problem with a mod.

On a similar point, it's bullstuff that there are no pylons which don't transmit wireless power.
I want to have things, like lights, in close proximity, but capable of being activated seperately. But it's impossible because any means of getting power to the two objects creates a massive zone of wireless power that they will connect to.

The only item that doesn't emit a signal is a Switch, but for some godawful reason those can recieve power wirelessly, so they can still be subject to overlap.

They really just need some more basic control of power. It's ludicrous that I can set up more complex systems in Minecraft with Redstone.

I heard cages can take up to a week to catch something, I haven't even used the dlc yet so I don't know if it is true.

Yeah, that's true, but you need the cage door to close first. By default when built they stay open, and then close while powered, and open when you turn the power off.
My cages won't close, so they won't catch anything. Or if they do the creature will immediately escape.

Have you restarted your system to try to fix it?

Honestly the dlcs so far sound really bad, they're not like new vegas' and 3's ones where it adds quests which adds a few more hours of gameplay, it's just making a robot or traps, but far harbour seems like a quesst dlc so...

Turns out I may just be a massive tit, and cages don't close even if powered until they capture something.
Unless I misread the info it gave about cages, this isn't obvious at first. But it makes sense as animals are only captured while you're away/sleeping (that is, not looking at the cage), so it being closed indicates something was caught.

I warned people this would happen. This is Bethesda we're talking about.

Wasteland workshop should've been in the game to begin with
Automatron was pretty fun
I'm guessing the DLC from now on will be quest-based
or maybe they'll finally add the goddamn Chinese assault rifle

Automatron is a quest-based DLC, even if its highlight is building robots. It's not a particularly long quest, but previous DLC have been quite short too, without any new mechanics you can take advantage of elsewhere.

WW is a very small DLC on content alone, but to some players it could be very big as you could make good use of it. It's more like Hearthfire for Skyrim, or those house-owning DLC for Oblivion.

Far Harbor should be quest/exploration heavy, and much more open than New Vegas' DLC, which were quite linear.
It's supposed to be bigger than Oblivion's Shivering Isles, which was very big. So expect it to make Point Lookout/Old World Blues/Dragonborn seem small.

Plus, these are just the first three DLC coming. We can expect more, and ones that will be quest based.
I'm anticipating one based around the memory den and reliving someones past memories. As well as one related to sub-aquatic exploration/combat (based on the unused harpoon, perks regarding underwater breathing/stealth, power armor letting you breathe underwater, and the npc dialogue about a ghoul whale), if that content doesn't come to light in Far Harbor.

But you can already breath underwater with power armor and that stupid perk.

You can drown in power armor, it just takes longer

I want the Combat Zone and the Memory Den to be expanded on

Get that stupid fish perk, never drown.

Most over powered perk I ever saw. No radiation could give you gills, not even in fantasy.

That's what I meant. They're an underused ability in the base game, so I suspect they will be utilised in a DLC.

No radiation or training could make my bullets ricochet off walls to kill people.
Or let me explode people into little bits with my fists, or cause bottlecaps to erupt from peoples bodies.
Nor would radiation heal me, or night time give me night-vision, or sunlight heal my wounds.
