how i stop this stuff from falling through the shelf and counters
I'm not sure that you can. I've read some people saying placing it through the settlement menu (vs from the inventory) may help, and others saying it doesn't.

So I just began the Brotherhood of Steel quest line, and I got onto that quest where you have to search for the missing recon team. At the very end, I killed that old guy hiding in the bunker because I wanted his combat armour, then I lied to Danse and said he attacked me out of craziness. Is this gonna come back on me now? Also have I made the right choice in choosing BOS, how does it work with settlements since mine are currently owned by the Minutemen?

I let Brandis live, and re-recruited him into the Brotherhood.
There wasn't much to do with him after that. He stood around in the Prydwen, moaning about recruits these days, and said he wasn't released for active duty yet.

Only real thing that happened with him, was in the final battle, he joins the group of BoS soldiers who help you.
But he doesn't say anything special during that. He very nearly died on mine after taking a missile to the face.

In regards to settlements, the BoS don't actually get involved.
All your settlements can still be recruited by the Minutemen.
As far as I am aware, the only distinction is that you can now build Brotherhood Flags under the Decoration tab.

Via the settlement menu doesn't help much, as it automatically tries to snap the items to certain places on shelves.
And often it snaps either on top of the very top shelf, or in the middle of a shelf.
So it's not very useful for decorating, in my opinion.

Right now what I'm gathering from YT videos is that the perk chart is the single most confusing thing in the game

I've seen so many people choose to increase their SPECIAL stats over and over and over because they assume the other perks are "grayed out" and can't be chosen yet

Weird. I didn't even know you could upgrade SPECIAL until halfway through my game.

But I never thought the perk part was confusing.

I didn't think it was confusing at all. It was pretty straight forward for me.

I've finally gotten around to installing the game. Any tips going into it?

for forget's sake

I removed the dialog mod, changed back all the things I had to alter to get mods to work, verified the cache, and now the game crashes before it even reaches the title screen

I played for over 70 hours with almost no issues, why is it doing this now

click the play button on steam

The perk chart is super simple wtf

i didnt realize you could scroll down at first lol, then again it was pretty late when i started

its kind of dumb honestly, but its not all that confusing

The perk chart is annoying to navigate by having to hold the mouse down but that's the only issue I had with it. Can't help that so many people are brain dead and can't distinguish patterns between the grayed out perks and the missing cutouts and read the required stats.

so i went to the nexus mod page.... yeah. lets just say i've installed far too many mods and am now building a hilariously oversized addition to the castle
