Author Topic: Blouke is going 175 miles to Yuma AZ via bicycle  (Read 2922 times)

150 is too much for what money i have left. yesterday i spent 80 dollars on the basket, lights, handlebar bag, pump and extra tube and i have only about 100 left. i also need to save some for buying more supplies when i get to yuma
i don't really want to dig into my savings for extra cash
Well, you want something tough and large so I'd say go with Military surplus. fairly large and should hold a good amount of your supplies.

How old are you anywho

You're going to get kidnapped and raped along the I-10.
thats what owning a gun is for.

Gotta be 21 to carry a concealed weapon in Arizona.

knife would probably be more reliable especially for like close encounters or something you can just slice the knife around, it's harder to deflect knife jabs at close distances than just pushing a gun out of your face.

plus this probably wouldn't be as much of an issue with a knife;

since you could just say it's used for camping or w/e

edit: i know nothing about survival stuff but would 4-5 gallons of water be necessary? water can get pretty heavy. Couldn't you do 1-2 and refill along the way?

it is pretty hot in arizona, especially yuma, so i'd be sweating a lot
and a lot of the route is either deep country or just the middle of nowhere so i'm not sure where there will be people with a bunch of extra water

Sounds like fun, I've been planning a 223km ride with my brother for a little while now.
From the lack of checked camping equipment I'm not sure if you mean to do it all in one day (not gonna happen) or find a place to stay for the night, but I would suggest bringing some sort of sleeping gear and fire starters, if you are camping out.

okay so
i went to walgreens on my bike and i bought a 24 pack of half liter water bottles for 3 dollars (just over 3 gallons if i'm correct) so it's about 25 pounds
not too bad until i'm trying to accelerate on my bike, it's more difficult that way
i guess that's what mountain bike gears are for

are you going to be carrying any money on you?

There's a Glendale about 40 minutes away from me, and I live in California
