why not just use a couple empty milk jugs instead of a ton of water bottles

my dad did a walk from columbus, ohio to seattle, washington back in '94

good luck

it is pretty hot in arizona, especially yuma, so i'd be sweating a lot
and a lot of the route is either deep country or just the middle of nowhere so i'm not sure where there will be people with a bunch of extra water
if you're going to be sweating a lot, go with powerade/gatorade/any sports drink over water. water is good for dehydration, but won't replenish sweat well.

get a bandana so you can use it as a headband and keep the sweat out of your eyes

okay, will buy gatorade then

are you going to be carrying any money on you?
probably not much, just enough to resupply for the trip back

There's a Glendale about 40 minutes away from me, and I live in California

I thought you lived in Australia.

I thought you lived in Australia.
Why? I never said I did

I live like 5 minutes from you

holy forget this is weird because i go to college at ohio state in columbus, but my family is moving to seattle. i thought i was tripping for a second.

well i need to replace the seat on my bike, the water weighs down on it, it makes the seat lower as i ride and the thing on the back holding the basket rubs against the wheel
what i didn't tell you guys is the seat on my bike isn't the original seat. so i should probably ride to this trek store over here and get a new seat or something

I live like 5 minutes from you
really? hmm that's interesting. the only forumer that i knew lives pretty close to me is keith

what

you're 5 this is a dumb idea letting a 5 y/o bike for 183 miles

That's 32 days straight of walking. That's over a month of nothing but walking. Why?

Make sure your bike is properly outfitted for the journey, i.e. reflectors and such. You may also want to buy a reflective jacket or something. You can get one with a cool decal on the back so it doesn't look like you're a construction worker, and it'll help when there's less light around so you don't get hit by a car.

I did a 200 mile trip once on my mountain bike... but i cheated in the sense that i had strapped a weedeater motor to the rear tire  :cookieMonster:
