can someone tell me what a counterpick is

either a character or a stage chosen by the loser of a round to possibly amplify their character's properties or hinder their opponent's

tl;dr pick a stage after you lose to give you an advantage

like let's say i lose on battlefield against a ganondorf or something as jigglypuff; a counterpick i choose could be lylat cruise because jigglypuff has great recovery and it's fairly easy for those with lesser ability to recover to get stuck underneath the stage

all in all counterpicks are generally dependent on comfort-level with the stage

Jigglypuff's main issue is priority, her range is way too small to be a high tier 1v1 character. It makes sense a 2v2 would put her to better use I think.
