Author Topic: Can someone please explain what the deal with Splatoon is to me?  (Read 1854 times)

'original' is an understatement
how
I still find it weird that Nintendo released an answer to Gears of War of all things.
what

It's a third-person team-based shooter.
Last time I checked, that's what Gears of War is.
...I'm being a handicap again arn't I.

Doesn't look that interesting to me.

you can be a squid
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
OT: It is a shooter game not based on killing things (from what I heard)

lacks content but ITS OKAY WHEN NINTENDO DOES IT AMIRITE???

I know I'm a full-fledged fanboy but nintendo hasn't done anything right this year

In my opinion I don't like it but I'm sure a lot of others like it. Its a bit weird because de blob was loving amazing and kick ass but splatoon doesn't look good for me its just a shooter targeted for young audiences but everyone plays it, I think everyone should stop using "Targeted for X audience" because you'll end up with a game that has everyone playing it. Hatred is targeted for adults only, some people that aren't adults play it so whats the common sense here? The sims 1 was targeted for teens, I had it when I was 7, I killed every sim while they screamed burning to death after happily setting a firework and screaming at the fire after. I stared and laughed. whats the difference here?

"In a sunken scroll it is revealed that the Inklings have very limited brains that are predatorial."

is nintendo trying to mock us, or

I had a relatively similar gamemode for blockland a few years ago where people would spraypaint the terrain and whoever had more team-colored bricks won.  You also had different weapons that dealt damage in unique ways.  People liked it at first but then it died down and wasn't as fun later.

My point is, it really looks and feels fun, but it seems the excitement is exhausted pretty quick.

The only thing I actually like about the game is the focus on an objective and teamwork.

Still doesn't have a lot of basic content that all other shooters have such as different game modes but I guess that's not what it's played for.

I'll wait until all the nintendo fanboy hype has died down before making a decision.
