Author Topic: Do you guys think Blockland will ever get updated again at some point?  (Read 5680 times)

the games finished and im sure you've gotten your moneys worth so stop complaining

What's with the blind idiotic thirst for an update so many people around here have? What do you so desperately need that you have to constantly whine to Badspot to cater to your vague needs?

Some multi-core performance would be great. 8 goddamn CPU cores and Blockland only uses 1.

That's actually probably the first time I've seen a real request in one of these threads, nice. I'm not particularly well versed when it comes to low-level programming, assuming that's even what that would necessitate, but I would guess that falls under "stupid amount of work because Torque is terrible."

something to replace the void that maps still leave

I remember there being a big suggestion for multi-core support and Badspot telling us that it does use more than 1 core, 2 of them. I don't know where the reply is or what the 2nd core was being used for but I don't think spreading the load across 8 cores would increase the performance, given it can be done in the first place.

Yes, they are called bricks. Have fun!

I got Blockland around 2008 or 2007
I played it quite constantly, and enjoyed it.
7 years * 24 Hours * 365 Days = 61320 hours of joy.
61320 Hours of fufillment (Let's just pretend that the feeling lingered with me every hour for the sake of exaggerated math.)
Compared to a baseball game which lasts 3 hours, Blockland is 20440% more efficient.
Compared to a movie which lasts 1.5(Give or Take) hours, Blockland is 40880% more efficient.

If Blockland were to die in this very moment with no good reason, I'd accept it quickly. I've had my fun, and it's given me a lot these years.

although an update would be welcome, blockland is very much an addon-centric game. and people are still making cool addons for the game daily! i'm overall pretty satisfied with everything.

A time in the future.
However the physics......ugh

Here's what I want:

  • Improved vehicle physics
  • Mulitcore threading
  • More than 4 images per player
  • Hats?

We can just have that and we won't need blockland to be updated again.

No ones complaining, were concerned/curious.

I wouldn't be surprised if badspot drops blockland entirely, well, it would shock me but, I would see it coming.

personally, i think we only need bug fix updates since content updates have been fulfilled by the modding community

new addons that add game changing stuff (for example, renderman) keep me from even caring about updates
