I think banning a flag is also banning a form of freedom of speech.

The flag can't be banned. Retailers can refuse to sell it, however.

idk if arizona is considered part of "the South," but southern pride p much exists because what i guess can only be explained as a kind of southern subculture, and i don't think there's anything wrong with being proud of w/e culture you're a part of. it's not necessarily a matter of saying x region is inherently better, it's just an appreciation for it. at least that's what i'm assuming since i've never experienced "southern pride" firsthand (though, secondhand, i've seen plenty)
not what i meant
i am aware arizona is not part of the south, but what i mean is that i don't actually feel that i am part of a distinct culture from people in vermont or idaho, so why is that true for people in the "deep south?" it makes no sense

if they feel so distinct why don't they just secede again? i wouldn't complain, the US would generally move towards my political tastes :)

Yes, I have 2 CSA flags and live in the south and will fly them on occasion but I don't call people mondays or brandish my flags like some "southern pride" people who pose with their guns and flags then post the pictures online. My flags will always remain in their case and when I do fly them I only keep them up to mark CSA victories during the Civil war and I do the same thing with the US flag so don't say I just fly the CSA flags.
so you fly a flag to commemorate successes of a racially-motivated rebellion against your country

Has history goes on, the meaning behind that flag will fade. Today I can probably go around with a flag of East Germany, fifty years ago I would have been in jail for doing that. There are always going to be hate groups regardless of color, country, and party, but we can take actions to keep in them line. Let them keep their flags, banning them will only fuel their passion for hatred.

Let the flag fly near or on all the battle sites and historic places. We shouldn't outright ban it, that would be an enabler in the future to ban other things that we might not want to ban. Both the CSA flag and stars bars should be kept as reminder for future generations not to repeat the same mistakes. Look at countries in Europe that fought for the Axis such as Hungary, Italy, and Japan and countries like France and USSR which tried to bury and white wash some of their more controversial and questionable actions that were made during that war.

the poll is bad. too black and white

i don't think any form of censorship should be allowed in the us
No, its not the flag that killed innocents, Motives can be found anywhere. Taking down historical land marks and flags will not stop the violence and the same with taking away guns, they need to actually do some thing instead of cutting down history. Make a actual move to stop violence

freedom of speech for life forget all of you
