What are they gonna censor re-runs of Dukes of Hazzard?

I'd say they should bulldoze Stone Mountain instead.

No its not
Perhaps you should elaborate further for those of us who aren't familiar with southern culture and history. I'd like hear a bit more for the south's side of the story.

Ah the grand history of rich southern culture, a side of grits with your casual white racism.

All I know about southern history is that my grandma left the reservation in Oklahoma and went west to California.

not going to lie
back in highschool my sister had a pair of confederate flag fuzzy dice hanging from her trucks rear view mirror

My first American born Irish ancestor fought at Gettysburg and then went south to burn down Atlanta with Sherman's western army.

Somehow I find this is more en vogue than "truck nuts".

i can see somebody being offended by this if some guy waves it in their face or something with their only reason being is being tribal, but banning this flag (or any other variants of it) is pretty dumb.

it's not a symbol for slavery, and probably not even a symbol for treason against america at this time. it's not 1861.

plus, it's got a lot more history than just the civil war, and has been used in later times by the US

georgia's flag today is still based off the flag

and mississippi

The fact that it's not 1862 anymore does not mean that the flag is any less a symbol of racism and slavery.

1861, and it was Robert E. Lee's battle flag for the Army of Northern Virginia.

Why are you correcting me? He's the one who picked the wrong date. I just repeated it for the sake of continuity.

Furthermore, what does the flag's official title have to do with anything?

I'm just saiyian dawg.

Well as a battle flag, it was also surrendered along with arms at Appomattox court house. It's history as a device for white supremacy movements is documented however.

So it has historical merit. Great, we already knew that.

That doesn't mean that you can hang it over government buildings and pretend like it isn't the symbol of an army that was explicitly created to protect slavery.
