Why the hell do people keep saying 8 and 8.1 where bad?
I got along with it just fine, what is so painful about relearning a few things, one of my favorite things about it is being able to download tablet apps on pc instead of having to own a damn tablet.
Let me answer some pre-existing possible questions:
Q:Start menu is gone
A:Its still there, its called the start screen and you do not have to choose between 2 environments you can use both.
Q:In 8 can you only use the Metro interface?
A:There is still a desktop.
Q:I heard on 8 you could only get apps from the store, is that true?
A: No you do not have to get everything through the store.
Q:Is it true in windows 8 apps replace programs?
A:Apps do not replace Win32 applications.
Q:Thats the start SCREEN not the start menu!
A:If you really need a start menu, now you can choose any type of start menu you want(I use start is back)
And if your going to start bashing the lack of aero, let me assure you there is still themes, and many apps that get you aero again.
8 and 8.1 where only "bad" because people kept spreading rumors, and following a stupid philosophy that one version of windows is good and one is bad, may I remind you guys that vista was bad when it came out but then SP2 came out and fixed everything!?
Not to mention 7 was basically just SP3 with a rename and they redid a large amount of things to get away from the negativity the vista name had.
Yeah, thankfully microsoft realized that in Windows 10 and made a desktop and tablet mode separately that you switch to easily instead trying to mush a desktop and tablet ui together like they did in Windows 8.No not yet, it'll be coming later this summer though and if you want there is a technical preview.
Holly forget again with this, I have a copy of the latest windows 10 build and its still the same, all tablet mode does is disable the desktop and make your start fullscreen, but you can still use fullscreen start in desktop mode.
