honestly guys i think we need to just trash this stupid earth and use it for everything it's got
then escape on spaceships like in WALL-E and grow fat

nah we gotta find another planet to trash and bring the resources back here to make this planet better

Im living next to a large lake that connects to the ocean. loving hell i wont survive.

And by living next i mean RIGHT NEXT TO IT.

And by living next i mean RIGHT NEXT TO IT.
like literally directly adjacent to a water particle in the lake

everyone move to colorado

we need commander shepard

because let's be honest, climate change is kinda inevitable - we only contribute 1% as a race
are you for real right now

oil companies are doing the same loving thing that tobacco companies did when scientists realized the health effects of tobacco: stalling. they bribe hire scientists to claim that it's unproven or disputed, despite the fact that 98% of scientists agree that climate change is both happening and almost entirely our fault. people will wake the forget up at some point, like they did with tobacco, but for now they're just causing confusion so they can enjoy their last pennies before fossil fuel is seen as despicably as tobacco.

car manufacturers are kind of doing the same thing, but while climate change and environmental laws can ruin the entire oil industry, they'll only be a temporary thorn in the side of the auto industry, since they'll just switch to electric.

i personally really believe in the stuff elon musk is doing with tesla and solarcity. spacex is also really cool.

all i see is sensationalism and fear mongering
no, it's people realizing the danger. the problem is that it's a gradual (in human terms) event, and humans vastly underestimate gradual events since they don't see immediate explosions.

How long will it take for people to realize it's a natural cycle that happened before and will happen again? We didn't do anything. Are we also to blame for continents moving? Should we prevent it? Let's tell on the continent's parents.

How about you two do a little research before you spout literal bullstuff?

For one, continents move because of how solid plates of crust move over a liquid mantle. That's how it always will be, well, until humans totally freeze the mantle!!

Climate change is artificial in our time due to the irrational amount of greenhouse gases we have put into the atmosphere since the Industrial Revolution. Sure, climate change has happened before (ice age and stuffs), but that isn't the issue. The issue is how substantial the incline of the global temperature has been growing because of us. It is obvious that the human race has put the climate in a position where it will and can forget up life as we know it/how humans live today/back when.

ah, a fellow muskbro.

ninja: well i really meant to put that response in my above post but i have a habit of clicking things

it's pretty disgusting to watch people try to argue that loving over the planet is a good thing. its one thing to accept global warming but not do anything to stop it but it's another to totally deny it. because the reality is that it will have DISASTROUS effects if it gets out of hand.

Let's say you were in a room with a glass of water, and had 100 scientists inspect it. 98 of them said "This water is poisonous and if you drink it you will die." 2 of them say "Actually this water is totally safe. Also we are sponsored by the Poisonous Water Company." Would you drink that water?

we should drop a giant ice cube in the ocean every now and then
