Author Topic: Windows 10 Thread | I AM LATE BUT IT'S HERE FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE  (Read 135390 times)

i would do it, but i'm worried about the bloatware which is installed, i don't even have a netflix account.

just upgraded. my friend says he had candy crush installed, but i got absolutely no bloatware :cookieMonster:

also i am absolutely adoring edge, especially the reading list. i never knew how much i wanted this until it appeared, but it's much nicer for storing manuals and reference articles (learning music production) in a place separate from your bookmarks... that you can take with you on your phone? whaaaaat

What bloatware?

Bloatware is only installed from the OEM of your laptop/tablet and if you mean apps those are easy to uninstall, but when I upgraded I got no additional apps.

i just would never find a use for cortana.
and loving candy crush.

i personally will use cortana more once she arrives on android and (eventually) iOS, but right now cortana's like a more improved version of siri for your computer... which is nice, i guess? i mean, no point in searching with cortana, but the weather and news things are pretty damn cool. plus, she recommended me a pizza joint i went to today, so i'm happy - but as of right now, cortana's kinda just a little bit of polish. you can also disable cortana completely if you don't have a use

i don't understand why candy crush was bundled with my friend's computer lol, but that's weird how i didn't get any bloat at all

Cortana is really loving useful, I can literally ask her anything and expect to get a reply, you can also just hide the cortana button, and I never even got candy crush but if you want to remove it you just open the app list right click>uninstall and done, no restart required.

Cortana is not available in my region
thats so loving gay, forget you windows

EDIT: had to change language to english, wich I had set to english but magicly changed to dutch.

It has now literally been 1 day, when is the notification.

how come when there was all the SOPA and CISPA or whatever stuff going on, nobody could get enough of complaining about that, but now everyone who is cautious is a conspiracy theorist??

That's the evolution of the internet

Alright, that's one down, however it doesn't take care of the rest of it.

I never got the windows 10 installer reserve update notification, so I just went to the website to download the OS and it gave me the upgrade tool (~18mb) which worked like a charm.

In about an hour, with less than five or so clicks, it downloaded the OS and upgraded my work laptop to 10. No optical or USB media required, it took care of it all.

The OS is pretty clean and responsive. It does a fantastic job of assembling driver functionality, or at least this was the case on my first test system. Tbh I don't really hate it yet.

As long as people get something they are willing to overlook the negatives. In the chase of SOPA and CISPA there was nothing to be gained by the people except more power for large companies, so everyone rallied against them whereas with Windows 10 they are willing to overlook all the potential exploits as long as they get to have fun with Cortana and the 3D software. The good thing is that big brother can only look at the big picture.

My concern is that hackers always find a way around a system. Nothing is perfect in this universe and never will be. We live in age where anyone can bug an ATM machine or card reader slot, anyone can make some sort of long range wallet scanner, just about anyone can hack big store chains and steal transaction information. It's only a matter of time until someone finds all the exploits in the os to abuse all the tracking features Microsoft put in.

I'm going to keep my laptop at windows 7.
I'm afraid windows 10 will slow it down, and I only really use it for hosting my server anyway.

Windows constantly keeps changing my goddamn keyboard layout for no reason
