Author Topic: Windows 10 Thread | I AM LATE BUT IT'S HERE FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE  (Read 134993 times)

It's odd 'cuz up-to-date Vista isn't really much different than Windows 7
(good god I'm asking to be nuked for saying a statement like that)

It really isn't besides optimization and compatibility. I wouldn't be so loving pissed off if my go-to software didn't randomly drop support

I ran prep and now all the files deleted lol
oh well I can system restore

It's just odd that the compatibility's that much different, I mean it's still a supported OS (by Microsoft)

The paint.net developer is a cunt is the reason

You will actually get banned from the paint.net forums if you ask why support was dropped. They straight up removed the older versions compatible with vista.

8) Do not ask for older versions of Paint.NET. This is a corollary to #7, but I'm spelling it out separately anyway. We will not provide download links for them -- you are on your own to find them (hint: try a search engine). Along with this, don't ask about Windows 2000 (or XP or Vista) support. Seriously. You may think you have some new question or insight, and that's definitely possible, but this is not something that will be added back in to a future release of Paint.NET. End of discussion. If you want to complain about this, then don't talk about it here -- just write on your blog or talk to your therapist or something instead, please.

The worst part is that one day paint.net updated randomly on my desktop, broke support for the OS it was running on and then crashed.

After that, it just wouldn't run period. I tried to go to the forums asking what's up and immediately got linked to the top link and then got banned.

lovely

i do my best turn off automatic updates on random programs to avoid these kinds of situations.

can't you find an older version floating around on CNET or something though?

I tried to get an older version, but a lot of the older versions automatically update if you attempt to run them. It's a loving mess

hey nal are you sure Vista will be upgradeable for free? I thought they said only 7 and 8/8.1

you won't get windows 10 for free with windows vista

it's for windows 7 and 8/8.1 only

ah yeah, for free is what i meant

where the forget do you live wait never mind it's obvious

Question here.. Is the upgrade to Windows 10 free forever? Or is there a specific date to when it starts to cost something? I'd like to wait a little before I dive into Windows 10, as I'm not convinced that it won't have any big bugs, but I still would like to upgrade for free.
