My game doesn't start up

Hello, I recently switched to windows 8 and Blockland wont start up. What happens is I start it, it goes into full screen, my steam image icon is highlighted green and then it goes blue (green means the "Game" Is started and blue means you arent playing anything) Help? And I bought this directly off of steam so dont post the comments about the version buying it from the site. Thanks!

Have you tried backing up your saves then re-installing Blockland?

Well, It trys to go into fullscreen and yes, the game just wants to attempt to launch
