i went through all of these links and got lost almost immediately because the information wasn't clearly presented to me
each bit of information is stuck in another sea of links and most of them don't even explain or define what it is you're supposed to be looking for in each category
there's a massive 'search' bar smack dab on every page there too. and when you search it, you have the choice to stay on usa.gov, or even go to other sites that have the information you need (which are also government websites)
If we all relied on Google, we'd miss things, we'd make mistakes which could easily be rectified by a teacher."
you're using government websites that are rather easy to understand and navigate through. still don't know it? missing a 'huge, vital part of information' from your knowledge? visit the nearest educational/governmental building to get help, talk to a friend about it even.
I'm saying that kids shouldn't have to learn things they will never use, and replace the removed things with things that they will need to know.
EX: If I want to be like, a historian or something, I would want to learn about history and stuff, so I would keep that on as my standards, mabey add a language so I can communicate to tourists n stuff, and then add tax / law classes. its not that school is useless, its that schools are
1. teaching outdated material
2. teaching things that kids will never use
3. not teaching things that kids will use
a kid/teenager's choice of their future lifestyle can change drastically in any matter of time. what the hell falls under 'outdated material' in education? are you trying to say we shouldn't be learning about the classical/earlier eras or before? i don't know anything that can fall under 'outdated' unless you're talking about how sometimes you solve a math problem differently than older folks have.
'teaching things that kids will never use'. you don't know at all how any kid's/teen's future is going to turn out.
'not teaching things that kids will use' well, didn't you just say we should stop teaching 'outdated' things and 'things kids/teens will never use?'
also, if you're going to only take a select few classes/lessons to get an education and focus on in the high school area, you're going to have a huge, or even massive gap in your education that you'll be missing out on.
