After being stuck with a stuffty computer for the past few years I finally decided to make a PC Build of my own. I was wondering if all these parts work together, note, this is my first time building any sort of PC so I have no idea what i'm doing so a little guidance por favor and I also intend on gaming / editing on 4k.

If anyone with PC Building knowledge could help me edit parts for the best performance for the cost would be great.

I am also wondering if anyone knew of a guide that can help a newcomer figure out where all the plugs go I feel a bit overwhelmed and do not want to forget up on anything.

Here's the Link to the pc I'm thinking about getting with a budget of 2000 disregarding the monitor. (TOTAL Around 1900 So far)

buddy im sorry but you should not really be getting that intel cpu

try this out and never try intel again because the only difference between amd and intel is intel has a bigger price tag

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284

better to spend 180 on an 8 core rather than forgetin 380 on a quad

if you want an in depth guide i can message you about what goes where and what guidelines to follow, and if you really want to use NVIDIA or AMD, as NVIDIA can outperform AMD in certain cases, but AMD will again be better if you want to keep the budget near 2k, not 2.3k

Thanks for the tip, I would have forgeted myself over. What's the big difference between amd and Intel besides the price tag?

Another note is i'm also using this computer for heavy editing so i'm not sure if that will account for anything?

lol what

cores =/= performance. Look at benchmarks to decide what's the best rather than shilling a certain company.

Notice the score difference in the comparison chart.

This is hilarious.

OT: While the 4790K is a great processor (I own one, it's wonderful.), it IS a bit excessive unless you plan on doing photoshop/video editing/so on. IIRC everyone usually goes for the 4690K because of it's power and price.

But, if you really want an i7, go for it. I don't regret it.

Don't listen to this guy

AMD cpus offer good price/performance, but an intel is going to offer better performance. AMD is good for budget builds, but if you're spending $2k, go with intel.
Just know that the only difference between i5 and i7 is hyper threading, which isn't going to add anything for game performance

My only issue i see is that monitor is expensive as forget.
Edit: oh, it's 4k. That's why

intel is balls. AMD is better for the money. Don't get a processor that doesn't have a lot of good reviews though. Especially when building your first PC. intel does offer much better performance if you can afford it though.

and the infamous amd vs intel begins haha

Thanks for the tips, I'll do a bit more research but for now I guess it looks like i'm sticking to intel.

If i'm doing editing will hyperthreading do anything?

a better cpu will account for editing speed, and there really isn't a big difference between amd and intel. when buying intel, you are also buying the name of the product, which is more than the actual product itself, and you are essentially investing into intel. with an industry that is growing every day, investing in one or the other really does not make much sense. they have different programs in which they run their processors off of, other than that, there is no difference. they're just processors.

if you ever want to get into streaming, be sure to pack at least 16 gigs of RAM into that system for optimal results. other than that, everything is set.

once again, if you want a comprehensive guide as to how to put things together, tell me in your reply or a message.

boy how is an intel quad going to offer better performance than an eight core
a side note, dont listen to intel fanboys who really believe that their stuff is superior

goddamnit if youd look at the stats between the processor you selected and the one i had suggested you will see that it simply outperforms it with a better price buddy

Once again, cores != better performance.

intel does offer much better performance if you can afford it though.
He's spending over $2k on this. He can afford it

boy how is an intel quad going to offer better performance than an eight core
Because there's far more factors to a CPUs performance that core count.
More cores is better now extreme multitasking, but games benefit more from single core performance
Also, hyperthreading = 2 virtual cores per physical core
