Author Topic: Getting a new phone within the next week, which one to get?  (Read 1802 times)

As the title suggests, I'm in the market for a new phone after having a broken Galaxy S4 for two years. I'm looking for a phone similar in size to the S4. I can't deal with iPhone screens because I have big gorilla thumbs and it forgets up the typing. I've been thinking about just upgrading to the Galaxy S6, but I'm open to other options if there is something out there that is better. As long as it's an upgrade from what I currently have (refuses to update, randomly deletes my files, glass cracked and is gone in some places) I wouldn't mind considering it. I mainly use my phone for internet/texting/watching videos and some music, so keep that in mind. My carrier is AT&T and I can't switch, so that is the selection of phones I'm working with.

The Galaxy S6 looks pretty cool but have you checked out the iPhone 6 because theyve made the screens a lot bigger, might be easier for you to type on, assuming that you have tried only the iPhone 4 or 5

That's definitely something to consider, as I did hear that they made the iPhone a little larger in the most recent iteration. I'm basing the "can't type for stuff" idea on using a 4, last iPhone I ever used. I don't want something like the Note or 6+, however. I want something that I can fit in my pocket.

yeah, those were tiny

I use an iPhone6+ and it's really great

lol i can fit my 2ds in my pocket and it's bigger than my friend's friend's 6+

why don't you get a nexus 6 instead of the sgs6?
https://www.google.com/nexus/6/

I recommend going for andriod. the LG G4 and S6 look really great. I'm going with one of those in the coming weeks as well.

Whatever you do, do not get an iPhone. They are overpriced, have less ease of access/software flexibility, and you can generally get a better deal for your money with an Android.

>goes to look at S6 specs
>no expandable memory
>immediately not sold

I'm keeping my S5, this phone is the stuff.

i got a nexus 6 as an upgrade from samsung brightside.

definitely one of the bigger phones i've seen; if you want a large screen, i'd recommend the nexus 6.  pretty good battery life too, even if it's used all day.

What I recommended: Samsung Notes lineup, Nexus 6/(Nexus 5 New Gen?), LG G4, HTC M9, OnePlus 2 (try to get an invite), Moto X

Don't buy the iPhone 6 unless you want a stuff ton of micro-scratches over the years, sure the saphire glass helps it, but its still prone to Micro Scratches and since its a full aluminum body it gets mini dents easily from a fall from just less than five feet.

I got this info from one of my uncles that has owned a iPhone 6 plus and got pissed at how it got wear without a case since release.

Personally I feel the iPhone 5S was one of the last good ones.

Though if I where you OP I would go for the Galaxy 6 NON EDGE, you can't get a glass screen protector on edge, and if you find one its going to be very expensive, also the edge is kind of hard to grip, its got a strange feel to how thin the sides are.

And I got to try this one out while "cleaning apps" from a family member's S6 Edge

Personally I use a Lumia 640XL, I'm one of those few guys that like Windows Phones.

If you are going to AT&T, go for a LG G4. If you aren't, get a OnePlus 2
