Author Topic: Anyone else think Call of Duty is overrated/has flopped?  (Read 2527 times)

People who are actually intelligent should stop buying the game and giving them endless amounts of money every single year.

People who aren't the least bit intelligent pre-order it every single year and then find something to complain about.

Everything is a stufffest after Black Ops 1, but zombies could be it's own game if they included at least 6 to 8 maps in it. Never get tired of some good old zombies. They'd cash in on that for sure and they know it.
BO1 was and still is tons of fun in Nuketown, i loving love nuketown i always play it with my brother when we go to Germany

the next call of duty game should just be every gun and weapon thrown in with no respect for history and laser guns with all the top hits maps from previous games

The next call of duty should be a giftwrapped dead horse with free stick so you can make games for them

Call of Duty? Overrated? Careful with those hot controversial opinions there

I stopped playing after CoD 2. I've played the others from time to time but only at like as friend's place or something.

The series is overrated but it's far from a flop lol. They'll stop making them only once people stop giving them handfuls of cash every year.

either modern warfare 2 or black ops 1 is the best call of duty imo, i stopped buying them after modern warfare 3
they should really stop making games based in the future and go back to the past like world at war

Nope, games are still fun. I'd like it if they stopped making bad attempts at copying Titanfall, but oh well.

honestly, I think that would be pretty cool
they should do that

Ill be perfectly honest, CoD is one of those game series where, despite me hating how many are pumped out, I can sit down and play for fun, even if i don't like it.
Kind of like McDonalds or Beastie Boys.

Overrated? No, anyone who knows the formula of the games know why people still play it. You know what you're getting in every new installment.

Sure as hell hasn't flopped. AC and CoD use the same system where the franchise is going to go on as long as possible because people still really like the games.

Doesn't bother me because the only CoD i had was BO2 and the only AC game I could get through was Brotherhood.

IMO pretty good marketing strategy.

The reasons all the CoD players want to get the newest one and all the DLC and stuff is because:
1. They believe all their friends and clan buddies are going to get the newest one, and do not want to be left behind like 'a loser'.
2. A fresh leaderboard. The earlier they start, the higher they believe they'll get.
3. 'Muh prestige'.

None of these would be a reason I would get it, but this is most likely how the CoD fanbase is.

I enjoy playing COD with some friends every so often actually

Don't plan on buying another cod until they decide to make another ww2 game.
That's what started the franchise and the ww2 games are still the best ones

the only reason i own a cod game is because no matter what game it is, if you have a 4 player game and friends over its always fun.
