And why is that?
It didn't appeal to me, The original one did, though.

Okay, but. What doesn't appeal to you about it...? At this point even the price difference is utterly negligible.

Im sorry guys
I'm adding the Dreamcast because the libary has more games I like, but I still want your opinions, guys.
also: I almost though about keeping my ps2 because it has Half-Life
but then the XBOX has HL2
I'm not adding the Gamecube because the wii can play those games.
The PS2, Xbox, and Dreamcast are still all worth owning even to this day if you want to know that. I still don't see the reason why you need to sell your PS2 though, older consoles are cheap as hell these days. I can understand if you don't have any money, but selling the console wouldn't really be good in the long run, you wouldn't get anything out of it.
the xbox 360 can play xbox games
Backwards compatibility for the 360 was pretty sloppy, it went by a specified list and only early 360's had that ability IIRC.
the ps3 can play ps2 games
Only the original models can do that, and I've heard that the original models are more vulnerable to getting the Yellow Light of Death.

Its libary doesn't fit my interest, A matter a fact I have only played our family's X360 3 times because it doesn't
have much to offer, for me, at least.

the ps3 can play ps2 games
i had a ps3 slim and it wasn't able to do that

The second run 80GB PS3 has backwards compatibility with PS2 titles but it's through software emulation instead of the hardware based solution used on original models. However, they also improved the cooling design of the second run of PS3s, so they are less likely to YLOD.

Well I've never heard about this, anyway good to know.

you shouldn't really get a dreamcast, there aren't really any noteworthy games out there
if you want to play some dreamcast games you should get this

Running in 60FPS. More weapons than Halo. More colours than Halo. More depth, gameplay and challenge. Ratchet also introduced achievements (called "Skill Points") and online multiplayer 6 days before Halo 2.

They're both some of my favourite games and I love them both, but Ratchet & Clank 3 is simply better.

Your forgetting that the AI in Ratchet and Clank is incredibly simplistic and that there normally werent massive firefights between different races of enemies (There were a couple of exceptions in R&C 1 like Blackwater city but they lasted for under 5 minutes most of the time). As for challenge. Halo has difficulty settings that make the game MUCH harder whereas Ratchet & Clank doesn't. If you know how to play ratchet and clank already then you can easily get through the games without a problem.

Don't forget your also comparing 2 entirely different types of games as well. I don't think either of them are particularly better since they are both different genres and depend entirely on your taste.

Ontopic: Don't sell your PS2 man, You'll regret it. Just save up your money, also if you have an xbox 360 you can buy most of the exclusives off the marketplace anyway.

Uhhh what are you talking about, the DC had some of most noteworthy multiplatform ports the late 90s had to offer. Not only that, but it had some of Sega's good exclusives in which the Sega Dreamcast Collection absolutely failed to deliver on.
but then the XBOX has HL2
Ugh I almost forgot to say this, but don't get HL2 on the Xbox. It's pretty clear that the original Xbox wasn't designed to handle something like HL2, the graphics were toned down greatly compared to the other versions and the framerate drops are horrendous.

lol.

Every single one of the Ranger battles? The Aquatos mission where you have the flame-forgeters against the Amoeboids? I could have sworn that that there's multiple factions in at least one of the Qwark Vid-Comics.

Which is 150% better than difficulty levels. It's fine-tuned to ensure a very specific progression of skill and players will constantly be pushed towards mastering the game, which is why many other kids games don't offer difficulty levels. R&C3 has various skill-based minigames (the Hacker, Vid-Comics, skills points etc), whereas Halo 2 kind of has achievements but mostly is just a shorter, much more linear campaign.

If you know how to play ratchet and clank already then you can easily get through the games without a problem.
That's the point. Then you play Challenge Mode where they ramp up the difficulty but also introduce new rewards for the risk. Furthermore, Halo 2's difficulty is static once you choose, whereas Ratchet & Clank's has levels that go up/down depending on how you're progressing through the levels.

Don't forget your also comparing 2 entirely different types of games as well. I don't think either of them are particularly better since they are both different genres and depend entirely on your taste.
Firstly, that argument is always an irrelevant one whenever it's used; you can compare anything so long as they have similar features. Secondly; both games are shooters. Ratchet & Clank 3 was marketed as a platformer so that they would stand out because there were so many shooters being made, and yet there weren't a lot of good platformers. The fact remains that R&C3, with their Battlefields and the reduction of platforming puzzles became a shooter.

I just realized that both consoles are very cheap, so there is no reason to sell one for the other, unlike PS3 vs Xbox360, where you might sell one for the other.

You can pick up a ps2 with a controller for like $20 at a pawn shop and you can get an original xbox for damn cheap too.

I saw a good Dreamcast (Its black, any info on this?) and XBOX at my local Gaming store, (NOT gamestop) Since I Don't use my PS2 that often, I made this thread to decide if I should sell it.
Plus, The XBOX was in real good shape.
they also had a huge 600$ NES addon pack, wow

my brother gave me lots of good memories from the ps2
so that's my vote
