Stand up for yourself, Blake
I'm serious, this will probobaly only get worse over time it's best to make a stand right here right now
Tell your parents to back off a bit. Tell them you're a responsible teenager, you're growing up and they don't have to watch over you like eagles or something
We've had several discussions around the same context. It's usually resulted in the same fate of, "can I have an allowance?" They say make some changes and I can get a bit more freedom, when at the same time they're afraid to give me said freedom. Sucks.
Your parents sound like liberals
*strongly Christian conservatives
So the odds are he will either add it to your router, in which case your forgeted. But if its a computer application then he surely isn't going to install it on your mom's PC... Right?
Uh I dunno. If he does I'm completely screwed as that is my current means of getting on during the night, since I'm rarely on during the day anymore.
What has me curious is what in particular that they saw on the forums
To be quite honest I don't know what they saw. It was back in December when I was flipping out at everyone and got drama'd, so I'm assuming they saw my banned account and stuff. They intended to talk to me about it, and even hinted that I had been "saying inappropriate things on the internet" but they never punished me or discussed with me about it.
Spark up the Tor browser, my dad has some OpenDNS stuff on my network (not to restrict me even tho it does block research). Works for me.
We used to have OpenDNS before the old router and modem got fried by the lightning strike a year ago. I never really cared too much about it, all it did was monitor network usage with some stupid graphs and block suspicious websites. Now of course if there's heavy network usage at 12am (caused by me) they'll most definitely get suspicious, but it's my only means of actually getting on the computer now.
you're not the only one
i'm 18 and i don't have my own password
on the bright side my network usage doesn't get monitored, so there's that
Yeah it sucks. :(
