Author Topic: Anyone else Mega-Hyped for Halo 5?  (Read 1102 times)

Halo 4 was stuff.
Its story and campaign was stuff
The multiplayer was the highlight and even that paled in comparison to past Halo games
Halo 5 Beta was unimpressive and got real old real fast
No splitscreen
A large amount of the movement and combat from the Halo 5 Beta was ripped straight from CoD: AW. That game wasn't terrible but if I wanted to play CoD I'd play CoD. I wouldn't waste money on a 70$ ripoff.
Halo 5's campaign (so far) looks like another generic story with painfully linear gameplay.
The new mode for multiplayer looks somewhat interesting but not enough for me to waste 70 bucks on.

So no I'm not at all hyped. To me the game will either be generic or terrible (if they manage to forget it up as badly as they did with MCC). I have zero confidence in 343 at this point. They have proven to be nothing short of incompetent.

Absolutely hate the removal of split-screen multiplayer, liking everything else so far, which for me, is a big step up from Halo 4
Y'know that reminds me, I have a dead Xbox 360 I haven't fixed. It's the original version, the big white one. I recall during a party my friend had brought over Halo Reach and when we got 4 people playing split-screen multiplayer the screen started to create white artifacts all over and then the console made one of those red 3/4ths circles. I don't think such problems arose when there was just 3 people playing though. I haven't made a move to fix it for a while, but the 3/4ths red circle means it can be fixed or salvaged right?

It could be a hardware issue with the console itself, or it's power supply, Microsoft has a few solutions that might help

I do not have an xbone so I'm not really hyped for it.

if you happen to own a chip reflower/reballer, then maybe. but those earlier models are so full of problems you just can't trust them. it's much more worth it to get a newer 360.

like I said, those earlier 360's are very problematic, and seeing how flame said there were white artifacts on the screen, it's likely a problem with the console itself. though trying a different power supply won't hurt given you have an extra one

Yeah I recall fiddling with the power supply some time ago but that didn't fix anything. It's probably just a console hardware issue. I guess if I'm really aching to play like Soul Calibur or something else I'll go to like Geek Squad (do they do repairs I thought they did) /contact Microsoft or just buy a new one. Thanks for the help and advice though!

Personally, I haven't played a lot of Halo to really have a say, I was afraid of playing certain games back then, namely multiplayer, in lieu of sucking really badly or something silly. I know at the very least a majority of those who play with inverted controls spawned from Halo, right? Anyway I really enjoyed Halo Reach's sandbox feature in particular. I hope it pleases the Halo fans at the very least, but I've heard some good things and bad things about 5 that are a bit too vague/broad to mention.

Meh, 343 left a sour taste in my mouth with Halo 4 and I don't think I can trust them with another game.

it doesn't look like halo
