Author Topic: What was the biggest drama in BLF history?  (Read 9988 times)

Who was actually behind TBM out of curiosity?

We aren't supposed to talk about that

All of you young naive country mice.

The great tbm banishment and mass user banning of course.
It splut the entire community in half and the drama lasted like 3 years.

That's so peculiar to read.
Out of all the people there I only recognise Badspot, mocheeze, Wedge and Miga.
But I've never heard of any of the other people.

Are there many people from back then, who joined the TBM side, but re-integrated with the community later on?
Because even today, when anyone mentions that part of Blocklands history, no one admits to having been on TBMs side.
It just seems weird that they were banned and never returned, yet today most of the people who get banned stick around like a bad odour.

i know
PhatStreet, BJway_Bandit (have on steam), Thermoman, RichardCQ (megascience), Ragnarok, Explosion, Plague, luquado http://luquado.com/, caz and most of the others

Was wondering why nobody brought up TBM.

What the forget was TBM anyways? I read through a large part of that and still had no clue.

A mod that was better.

A mod package for the alpha v0002 of Blockland that was popular in mid-2005. It came out a bit before RTB and competed with them. At some point the makers of TBM inserted a script into the mod that would check your Blockland directory for other mods such as RTB and delete them.

After being banished from Blockland the developers of TBM went off to their own community and spent years modding v0002 to compete with RTB then eventually retail Blockland. They made TBM 2 and there was a split with the developers that led to a TBM succesor known as The Orange Block being created as well.

Badspot posted some info on the news section on Blockland:

Unfortunately the linked thread doesn't exist anymore.

Is tbm dead now? Or do they have some external community still lurking around?

After a decade I would hope there's no community at all.
They never tried to re-integrate with the main community, so it would be bizarre if any of them even paid attention to Blockland at all, let alone TBM/Orange Block.
