how are you guys likin' the beta?
figured i'd make a peanut mini thread since there apparently isn't one

anyway i'm finding this game pretty fun. cycler rifle op. i still suck at flying and i hate playing as rebels in hoth

does NOT use bullstuff like Battlelog!
runs ok on my toaster at low settings (jumpy framerate, not stable)
FOV goes up to 110! but for whatever reason default FOV is 55, what the forget

grenades and whatnot are cooldown based instead of ammo based

lens flare/sun on Sullust is really loving stupid and you can't turn it off, looking in a certain direction on that map leaves you blind

tries WAY too hard to be "realistic" with its infantry chatter
Stormtroopers don't have generic Stormtrooper voice like in Jedi Knight

health regenerates stupid fast, stand still for a few seconds and you're instantly at 100%
no "classes," customization is all loadouts

gunfeel is meh
accuracy + damage feel lower than they should
looks + sound are good
reference: I liked the SCAR-11 in 2142 even if it sucked

production values are impressive but overall the game isn't.
definitely not worth 60 bucks, the forget outta here

I'd buy it on sale for 20 bucks though

the at sts are a loving joke. i jumped on top of one and stood on top of it for 10 minutes. i didnt even have to press anything. it just went in circles till it hit a wall and stopped moving. i love it

so far tho they weren't playing with the cinematic scale of the game. imo it holds true to the alpha footage so thats really nice

its a beautiful game for sure too, like omg i just like looking at everything

tho i noticed that no matter what character you are, if you run for too long you will always hear female breathing which is kind of strange

im actually really pleased with it so far! it plays like battlefront and feels like a battlefront game. its a shame there wont be any space battles, but i feel like once everythings released it wont really matter much

Very good gameplay, got a solid 80 FPS on my GTX 760. I was playing on Hoth and my loving Snowspeeder kept spinning around and around automatically whenever it's maneuver cooldown came off and it pissed me the forget off. I had to remove the keybinds so it could loving stop.

I'm going to wait until it comes out so that I'm not forced into some EA bullstuff on launch. It looks really good so far though and am considering getting it.

most of this stuff might be fixed when its fully released

Here are opinions I have formulated so far based on personal experience (Do not take them as facts)
-On Hoth, I have yet to see the Rebels win, it's possible but it requires too much effort
-Holy stuff the Empire gets all the vehicles
-It is impossible to survive in a dogfight if the enemy gets behind you at all
-Turning in an air vehicle is the loving worst with a mouse
-The people with the most kills are the people who stay in the AT-AT at all times
-The other map (Sullusk?) is more balanced than Hoth

JUST had a victory with Rebels on hoth. Just be sure to focus on one walker whenever you get their defenses down. Then take on the next one after it's defenses are down.

most of this stuff might be fixed when its fully released
of course it will be its still a beta lol

thats why i think this statements a little unfair:
production values are impressive but overall the game isn't.
definitely not worth 60 bucks, the forget outta here

I'd buy it on sale for 20 bucks though
right now yeah id see why youd say that but more than half of the game is still locked sooooo....

this looks pretty cool

ill make sure to dl it on my xbone later

This game crashes on ultra low settings, and I have to hardboot it if it does crash.

the controls are loving handicapped, you have to change them
but otherwise this game is great

-hoth is awfully one sided and a completely canonically-contradicting clusterforget, the latter part i wouldn't even mention if the devs didn't toot their own horn about how authentic they wanted to be
-heroes are awful, then again they were always awful even in older battlefronts
-vehicles as pickups is awful
-rocket launchers as pickups is awful
-controlling turrets feels awful, like the part that rotates is made of frictionless material, i can't even describe it but it feels wrong
-loadout customization is awful
-health regen is absurdly fast, if you see a baddie duck behind a rock you might as well forget about them
-why is survival rebels only
+sullust is fun for a cod of daddy-type gamemode
+im surprised it actually runs on my computer, and runs pretty well on lower settings for that matter, considering the hardline beta was literally unplayable

It's better than I feared, but worse than I hoped. It's not the worst thing to happen to video games, but its certainly not what I want from Battlefront. Also, anyone who says this installment is just Battlefield with a Star Wars hasn't played them both because even though I don't like this very much it's still forgetin miles more fun than current Battlefield games.

definitely not worth 60 bucks, the forget outta here
I'd buy it on sale for 20 bucks though
Sums up my thoughts on the matter, 60 bucks is too steep for something that looks like it's going to be this shallow. The other gamemodes look like they could turn out to be neat, but still not 60 bucks neat. I'd probably be willing to pay 30 dollars, maybe 40 at the most if I had a buddy who was also getting it.

i hate how hip firing is just as accurate as ironsighting

i hate how hip firing is just as accurate as ironsighting
i don't, i think that's great
the only thing looking down the sights should do is provide a level of zoom
