Then you just haven't seen them, because there definitely have been. Mostly people wanting females posted.
Hell, there was even a multiple page argument about people wanting to make a "straight furry megathread" because no one was posting females
So that's kind of got me wondering. Is there a correlation between being a furry and being gay, or at least, not heteroloveual?
For example, on the list of Furrys in the Furry Megathread (which admittedly hasn't been updated in almost 2 years), there are 39 furry members listed, and 37 who listed a loveuality.
There are 12 members who identified as Gay. That is 32% identify as Gay.
There are 14 members who identified as Biloveual. That is 37.8% identify as Biloveual.
There are 9 members who identified as Heteroloveual. That is 24.32% identify as Heteroloveual.
There was 1 member who identified as Aloveual, 1 who identified as Panloveual
In total that makes for 24.32% heteroloveual, versus 75.67% non-heteroloveual.
That's quite an unusual ratio in an average community.
Now, is this suggesting that being a furry means you are statistically more likely to be gay?
Or is it a confirmation/selection bias of some sort, or is there another factor at play?
Is it being on the Blockland Forums that makes you more likely to be gay? Or is it that it's the gay furries who are more likely to declare their loveuality?
Is this indicative of the general furry community, or is it a statistic only applicable to the furry community present on these forums?
Also, is there a link between the loveuality of a furry and their choice in OC?
For example, of those 9 heteroloveual members, 4 had Dragon OCs, 3 had aquatic OC's (whale, shark and Slowbro an aquatic pokemon), while just 2 had canine OCs.
This makes up for 44% Dragon, 33% marine, 22% Canine.
Compared to the non-heteroloveual members however, there's a stark contrast.
In total there were 17 Canine OC's (predominantly Foxes, 7, and Huskys, 6).
There were 5 Feline OC's (both non-bi/gay/hetero were feline).
2 mythical (dragon/gryphon), 2 fictional (gremlin/pokemon) and 2 other (bear/equine).
This makes for 60.7% Canine (25% Fox, 21.4% Husky), 17.85% Feline, 7.1% of mythic, fictional and other.
Is it simply coincidence that a significant number of the non-heteroloveual furrys choose a Canine OC, particularly Foxes and Huskys (a very Wolf-like dog breed)? What of the presence of Feline OCs, of which were predominantly belonging to biloveual/panloveual/aloveual members?
Are Dragons more favourable for the heteroloveual furry community, or perhaps marine-based OCs (of which there were none in the non-heteroloveual party)?
I don't know if this has ever been discussed in the Furry Megathread, as I don't follow it.
It's also not very representative, as I'm sure some of the info supplied to that OP was given jokingly, and it hasn't been updated in almost 2 years (and I've no idea how regularly it was updated between June '13 and January '14).
The sample sizes are also very small.
