the island is not large enough to allow this and cars being cheap would negate it anyway

also for anyone wondering how cars work

acquiring vehicles and how vehicles work has been changed compared to city rpg because you have to purchase each vehicle individually now but every purchase is temporary and ownership of a particular vehicle is reset when you switch the vehicle out for another or when its killed. however every single vehicle is dirt cheap with the fastest vehicle priced at only $33 but to be fair the buying power of the suburbian dollar is greater than real life and city rpg. vehicles are meant to be temporary partly because if we had a permanent vehicle system purchasing vehicles would become a status symbol as the vehicles would be more expensive since they would last forever and they would also clog up the server. vehicles also don't have a lot of hp compared to most vehicles which thanks to badspot usually have 400 hp by default. so you can't drive around in a dinky car anymore and kill the entire sever over and over again because you're basically in an indestructible tank even though you're like in a forgetin smart car which was a loving pain in old city rpg days but fortunately we at scenery co actually possess brains and know that vehicles with 400 hp each are bullstuff.
apparently i was highballing the most expensive car

you get $10 every tick which is at most 5 minutes, im not sure the time between ticks is currently, and the cheapest car costs nothing but is complete stuff

how terrible is the cheapest car

is it like 1 hp at snail speed

its called the ziq if you can find it and it has a mind of its own

Make the island bigger. Like, GTA : SA big.

too big and you risk being too empty unless theres like 60 players

this as well as other things. unlike the gta series, the player is not surrounded by things to do. suburbia does not have a bunch of minigames or story missions or whatever and is not designed to be a singleplayer experience; a lone player will have a boring time. smaller island size is necessary to keep players interacting and entertained. quite a few of the resource wars that will be going on become far more tenuous and even break entirely if every player was spread out over huge tracts of land.

right now ticks last two minutes so you'll be able to afford the best car after four ticks but you also have food to worry about and guns to buy to protect your stuff and crops/drugs to plant and crafting machines to buy and other stuff to spend money on too so the prices will probably balance out. if they don't then we'll know in testing and adjust the prices then.

Do you plan on adding flying vehicles and make them explode when they hit the ground to avoid clipping?

Do you plan on adding flying vehicles and make them explode when they hit the ground to avoid clipping?
no

given most if not all of the weapons are projectile based having a plane or a helicopter is a free pass to invincibility

even if they werent there would be problems with people just loving off in a plane to avoid the cops forever

In the land of Suburbia, God takes flying vehicles as another attempt of Babylon... and smites everyone out of the sky... this is why no airport exists on the island...

so when it is this thing going to be finished?
because this so awesome.

if around 72% of suburbia was completed in a year and 2 months, thats around 425 days

425 / 72 = around 5.9 days per 1%, so 100% should take 590 days
590 - 425 = 165 days left until suburbia is complete assuming gyt and that continue working at their current pace

tell me if my maths is wrong

Is there a chance that you will release the engine sounds mod that you made?  And if you do, how easy is it to add support for other vehicles.
