how do i emulate windows in linux
i've googled and researched with no success
everything is about running wine and stuff, i know what wine does, its not what i need

i want to run the entire loving windows os on a virtual machine

how do i do this??????
im running Elementary OS, based off Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
anything that works with ubuntu will work with me

why not dual boot
http://www.howtogeek.com/133515/4-ways-to-run-windows-software-on-linux/
dual boot is trash and breaks easily

also restarting every forgetin time i have to forget around is really annoying

you dont run wine, you drink it.

virtualbox

Only the root user and users in the libvirtd group have permission to use KVM virtual machines. Run the following command to add your user account to the libvirtd group:

Code: [Select]
sudo adduser name libvirtd
when i run this it says im already part of that group

then later on when it asks me to open the program, it says it failed to connect libvirtd because im not a root user.

use virtualbox, kvm is over the top for what you want to do.

just tell me like, where you get stuck on setting up virtualbox

more in-depth
Code: [Select]
Unable to connect to libvirt.

Verify that:
 - The 'libvirt-bin' package is installed
 - The 'libvirtd' daemon has been started
 - You are member of the 'libvirtd' group

Libvirt URI is: qemu:///system

libvirtError: Failed to connect socket to '/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock': Permission denied
but when i go to the terminal

Code: [Select]
user@user-X551MA:~$ sudo adduser user libvirtd
[sudo] password for user:
The user `user' is already a member of `libvirtd'.
user@user-X551MA:~$

i will try virtual box again

How about install Windows, then emulate linux, would be much faster and simpler than any other solutions listed.

yeah installing loving windows sure is easier than installing software on linux

VMware Player is best

You make it sound like it burdens you to follow an on screen setup window
