seriously forget CIA and forget their stupid loving religion
i hate them
dumb islamic pieces of stuff
why haven't we sent in multiple squads from different militaries to stop these dumbforgets
extremism =/= religion

If an atheist sets fire to a trash can, does that mean all atheists are anarchists? If Westboro church vandalized the grave of a marine, does that mean all Christians are like that?

Great.
Now the only thing that will be on the news for the next 2 months is going to be paris and refugees.

No because you can't generalize any religion other than islam.

The mass surveillance bill they just passed 2 months back didnt prevent this? Well they better infringe on the privacy and rights of the citizens even more now!

this stuff right here

Great.

I know the feel, it's even worse with 9/11 people still cling on to that and tv shows stuffty reruns every year.

As Count put it you can't really generalize Islam. There are so many different sects with different beliefs. Plus you have Kurds, Iraqi Defense Force, Iraqi Militias, FSA going against CIA/ISIL/Nusra. Meanwhile Assad, Iran backed Hezbollah, Russia are going against CIA and FSA. Saudia Arabia and UAE are doing their thing in Yemen.

Paris prosecutor is currently clarifying the identity of the terrorists and the current situation

129 dead, 352 injured including 99 critical

7 terrorists were killed

"7 terrorists we are killed"
what

"7 terrorists we are killed"
what

it's called a typo, chill out

dang 7 terrorists? Im surprised they didnt decide to try something more 9/11-ish, like hijack a jet. Maybe most jets now have been reinforced/terror-guarded since 9/11 to where the terrorists wouldve decided it wouldnt work...

funny that it says that since muhammad himself said that they shouldn't attack other religions
You should check out the Hadiths, they got alot of content there that is directly against this and said directly by Muhammad

Was discussed earlier in the war on the middle east thread:
It's a power struggle.  I had the privilege of meeting an intellectual Syrian American woman in London.  She was very smart and explained that it's a power struggle, and has always been.  She insisted that the American media portrayed it as a religious thing when it's really just people being asses to each other.  I can go into it more later.
The US caused power vacuums when it messed everything up the first time as well as over its time there.  That would do nothing to solve it.  It would encourage nations like Iran to fill it, which most of the Middle East does not like because it has an imperial outlook on the region.
that's true.

as much as european empires were maybe not that great, it's called Pax Britannica for a reason; britain filled power vacuums which left a lot of unhappy people but at least there weren't wars
It's really an issue of power struggles.  The so-called "religious nut" side of it is more of a reason that the crazies use to justify heinous human rights abuses.

Actually, their plan was coordinated and didn't require going through excessive French security.  Their plan was just what they needed to accomplish their sick goal.

Well here's a few things:

1.) What are we supposed to do? Say absolutely nothing and pretend it didn't happen just because we aren't in the even or aren't in France or can't financially support help to the relief? Imgur comments got it right: a lot of victims really appreciate the support from a community of people who do actually have sympathy for their loss.
2.) People in those events are actually on Twitter or social media. There were multiple cases even in this event where people who were caught in the Bataclan who made it out went straight to the Internet to inform people of what the forget is going on.
