Author Topic: Why do shaders run terribly on my computer?  (Read 604 times)

Yes

I get extremely low framerates while playing on anything more than minimum shaders, and my computer is no pushover either.

AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor (3.5GHz)
16GB DDR3 1600 RAM
MSI Radeon R9 280 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card

If you need any other spec information, let me know. I just want to know why they run so bad.

do you have drivers properly installed
shaders are pretty intensive on a big map i can only get around 40 - 50 fps with a 970

I'm pretty sure my drivers are all properly installed.
I didn't realize the shaders would be so intensive on such an old engine. XD

you should still be able to atleast get the same as me

reinstall all drivers for your card and make sure your motherboard drivers are installed
whats your PSU?

i feel weird cause my laptop can run shaders on max with 30k bricks and very little fps lag.

EVGA 500B 80+ Bronze

Radeon graphics cards aren't optimized for shaders.
They run best on Nvidia.

That said, you should still get decent framerate with that card.

Make sure your drivers are up to date.
You can use Driver Booster 3 which is the only driver install software I trust not to carry malware.
Just read carefully while installing. It tries to trick you multiple times into installing other software you don't need.

Your PSU should also be enough.

Have any other programs running?

Funny, I have Radeon and my shaders work perfectly with a smooth 45fps or so

I can run shaders just fine with my R7 265. Does any other games run bad as well?
