"So where can I sleep for the night?" Hocef retorts, gesturing out to the empty plane. "Unless the grass might eat me too."

Loec attempts to cross the river
Another question; if a crafting recipe is not on the list, can it not be made or is it just yet to be discovered/needs player input

Faraji looks on the ground for any twigs and stones, to put near the fallen tree. After collecting twigs and stones, he looks at the river to see if the water is clear.
Faraji collects a bunch of twigs and a few stones.  The water is clear all except for the man wading toward him across the frigid river at hip depth.

Crafting recipes will appear as soon as the player with the highest crafting level gets to that point.  If you want to add something to the lists, send me a PM requesting it.  Any improvised thing like this tree shelter doesn't need a recipe.  There are a few ways to light a fire, so as long as you RP it out, you're good to go.

"Well, if you would follow me, please."  The man begins walking down the hill toward the forest.

Hocef probably wouldn't follow this weird guy if he was back in her old tribe...but those days are gone. She drags the largest of the branches behind her as she follows the man, axe in her other hand just in case.

Faraji attempts to make fire by rubbing two twigs together, but first drinking from the river nearby. He piles up all of his twigs in preparation for the fire.

The strange man leads Hocef through the forest, onward, and out the other side, where the grassland is.  He leads her up to the rocky area, where there appear to be a few small caves.

"Nothing lives here, I can guarantee it."  As Hocef takes a closer look at the cave, the man remains behind her.  When a gust of wind blows as she inspects the cave, she turns around, and sees that the man is gone yet again.  Even his footprints are gone.

An eagle is heard screaming in the twilight sky as the wind dies down.

The twigs that Faraji chose spark at one point, but the sparks are unable to land on anything except the wet grass.

Faraji takes two different twigs, and attempts with those.

He succeeds in creating sparks, but again, they land in the wet grass.  (Hint:  You need more kindling and fuel piled up.)

Hocef now has to accept that there is a strange bird man that is living around here giving advice about real estate. At least he seems a bit more...normal now that they've talked. She drags her branch into the cave she was looking into and looks for some rocks to start a fire.

Faraji looks for more twigs to pile up after realizing he has like 3 twigs

Freezing cold, Loec finally makes it across the river. Shivering, he gives the stranger a friendly nod.

Faraji nods back.

"Let me help." Loec says, beginning to scavenge for more dry twigs.

She finds some rocks, and tests them, one of them being flint, the other one being a regular old stone.  She strikes them, and to her satisfaction, they spark marvelously.

Loec finds a decent-sized branch that has fallen from a nearby tree.  It has a good amount of twigs on it.  Additionally, some dead leaves cover the ground here and there.

Faraji keeps looking for branches and twigs to put in the pile.

Hocef sets up any other rocks from inside the cave to contain a future fire. Hocef decides to chop the branch into fire sized pieces and remove as much bark as she can in hopes of being able to ignite the wood by itself.
