Veshikk moves as slowly and silently as possible, getting into a position on the right side of the tree to spring out with his new spear as soon as they get within range.
Öln carefully starts walking towards the pack, and he makes sure to avoid stepping on anything that might rustle or snap. He also, of course, stays within the treeline.

The group of dagu come within 6 meters of Veshikk before looking up at the trees, distracted as a murder of crows suddenly takes off.  Veshikk seizes the opportunity and throws the spear at the nearest dagu, the middle-sized one of the group, causing it to stick firmly in the animal's rear thigh.  The other dagu are surprised and after some scrambling, take off through the underbrush.  The injured dagu attempts to limp off, crying out in pain.

Veshikk jumps forward, trying to seize the opportunity to restrain the animal.  As he is not able to get to his knife in time, Veshikk throws himself upon the animal, managing to wrangle it to some degree of success.  Suddenly, Öln comes in from behind in a full sprint, yelling "Hold it down!"  As Veshikk keeps it restrained, Öln takes out his axe and swings quickly for the neck just below the head, taking it clean off with one swing.

The body of the dagu goes limp and Veshikk collapses on it, very mush taken aback by the sudden violent and charitable act taken by a random stranger.

«Veshikk has leveled up!  Fighting: LVL 4.»
«Öln has leveled up!  Fighting: LVL 3.»

Blatsa sets his things down, drawing his knife and standing with his knees bent, ready for the Bolgil to charge.  He would sidestep the Bolgil as it came near enough to him, and attempt to slash the Bolgil down his side to his hind leg as it passed.
As the Bolgil charges, Blatsa stands perfectly still until the bolgil is about four meters away.  He suddenly moves out of the way to the right and slashes the bolgil in the side.  The bolgil, although injured, makes a full turn after continuing through with his charge.  As Blatsa turns around to face the bolgil, it winces in pain, squealing loudly briefly before charging again.  Blatsa again sidesteps the bolgil, this time to the left, and cuts a deep gash in the animal, causing it to fall and slide in the dirt.  Blatsa then siezes the opportunity to slit the animal's neck, killing it in the same fashion as the one before.

«Blatsa has leveled up!  Fighting: LVL 7.»

Shortly after downing the dagu, and being only a half mile or so away, Veshikk and Öln hear the squeals of the bolgil resound through the trees, and are able to discern that the creature died with feelings of rage and anguish.

In other news, Faraji and Loec respawn at the location where they were before stasis.  Feel free to RP this strange occurrence out if you like.

Faraji motions Loec to follow him, and heads south, following the river in hopes of finding more substantial plants.

Kesakh appears behind Heshimun, wondering why he has been idling the lake's edge for hours.  He roosters his head slightly to the side and asks, "Are you quite alright, sir?. Heshimun turns around to see a shorter man standing with many cloaks behind him, an eagle hood that covers his eyes, and holding a staff with beads, bones, and a dagu skull on the tip of it.

Veshikk stands immediately and takes his knife out slowly. He regards the stranger suspiciously. Somewhat shorter than him with a similar build. Rugged. He doesn't appear to be hostile or aggressive. The bloodied axe reminds him that the man in front of him took off a dagu's head with little more than a club, though.

Veshikk shuffles slightly, putting his weight on his back foot just in case. He speaks carefully and slowly. "What about you, then?" His grip on the knife tightens.

Blatsa, having slain his second beast, excitedly begins to skin it, taking his time to scrape innards away from the skin, and carefully remove the tusks, bones, and good pieces of meat.

With that all said and done, Blatsa begins to gather up tinder for lunch.  He sets it in a neat pile, arranging it into a fire pit.  He then searches for a suitable stone, and lights the fire.  He then begins cooking meat.  In celebration of his second victory, he cooks every piece that he can.

Öln takes a step back, and swings his axe into the ground. With a simple slump, it bites the soil.
He pulls it out, to reveal the stone head is now mostly cleaned, if a bit dirty.

"Well, hm. Fine kill you've gotten there. No damage to anything but the neck. Good cuts to be made, you know. Bit of seasoning and you could make that into a feast. Of course, this is coming from a foreigner... What are you called, friend? I'm simply Öln."

He proceeds to eat some of his pine bark.

the strange short man hits the ground with a stick and then eats wood. veshikk is afraid

Veshikk relaxes slightly. The man, Öln, would have done something now if he meant harm. He removes the spear from the dagu's hind leg and cleans it in much the same method. He turns back to Öln, pausing before speaking. "My name is Veshikk." He hesitates and adds, "This kill is yours, too. Take a cut."

He then gets to work gutting the animal, specifically looking to save meat, fur, the bladder and the stomach.

Blatsa does all this and finds a good size stone, As he is only able to find branches, he is afraid that he will not be able to cook all of the meat, or cook it thoroughly.  He lights a pilot fire regardless, though.

He, however, is able to glean four large-sized cuts from the bolgil, and four medium-sized wooly skins.  In addition, he also has two more tusks and three intestines (although they have yet to be cleaned).  When this process is done, it is about three in the afternoon.

Veshikk and Öln begin to cut away at the dagu, and gain 2 small cuts of meat, two medium hides (just hairy, not really wooly), the bladder, and the stomach.  Additionally, they get 1 intestine.  Bones also might be chosen from the carcass should they choose.

Also experimenting with organizing stats into an image.  I don't have all the pictures uploaded because I was in a rush, nor have I explored the quality capabilities for resolution.  Y/N?

Loec wakes abruptly. He is cold. Very cold. He rubs his eyes and shivers as a chill shoots through his body. Faraji is motioning for him to follow. He quickly gets his bearings and stands up, following Faraji.

Loec and Faraji travel southward, and arrive at the edge of a swamp.  There is a lot of qashwan cane along the river.  They suddenly hear the sounds of a number of Bolgil, young and old in the form of grunts and squeals and the sounds of digging and logs turning over.  Must be looking for mushrooms.

Hocef wakes up. She'll cut wood later. She heads out of the cave and decides to head into the woods straight from the cave. She needs to find something to eat and drink.

Hocef heads down through the forest and finds a number of tegacha and shendama berries, avoiding the atii berries.  They're not enough for a meal, but surely enough for a snack.  She looks around for a moment to remember where she was, and then walks forward to find a swamp.  The water here is dirty, though.  That's unfortunate.

As she looks up, she sees a number of trees with small, pink flowers on them.  Perhaps fruit or nuts will grow here some day.

After taking a drink from the lake by bringing water to his mouth with cupped hands, Heshimun makes note of the man, and goes into the woods to make a fishing spear, so that he can greet the stranger with a gift of fish to share if he is willing.

might join when I have the time to bother myself

Kesakh sits down calmly on a fallen log a few meters away and waits.

Heshimun creates a fishing spear by sharpening a long branch with his knife.

«Heshimun has leveled up!  Crafting: LVL 2.»
