He'd just post pictures of tanks.
Actually in most threads with gun debates in them he brings some good knowledge to the table. It is unfortunate that he isn't here right now. But that's what you get for harassing the fallout 4 thread relentlessly.

I don't get it when people say that when the government turns evil, the citizens can overthrow it.

I mean the government still has tanks, and missiles, and nukes, and jets, and bombs, an ass load of bases, and the most powerful weapons on Earth

And a military made up of the citizens who operate such equipment who's loyalties will be challenged when the time comes. In the event of things going sour the country is going to split in half like it did in the Civil War. The government is not some all-knowing entity of a single mind that controls all individuals as a whole you know. It's very unlikely that that will happen any time soon. What I want to know is why people think that such a scenario would be over in a matter of minutes. The government has to fear the people, not the other way around.

the issue is that if they use any of those things they are literally destroying their own infrastructure

also nukes?? no country not headed by a mentally handicapped Riddler would willingly turn their own lands into a inhospitable pile of rubble

We just need to invent something cooler than guns so that people will gravitate towards this "new weaponry" instead.

You may think it's a good idea right now, but you'll see for yourselves when every paranoid/insane person in america has a gun.

A carrot and fleshlight in one device.
Wait, thats actually genius.
Im going to become and inventor from this point on.

It's sooo easy to label proper gun-owners as paranoid/insane? isn't it? You're incredibly naive.

it takes some serious willpower to look at overwhelming facts and statistics and then ignore them completely.
can't tell if trolling or

I'm not labeling proper gun owners with this, i'm labeling people who shouldn't have access to guns because they'd shoot anything that moves towards them.

Whatever you say mr. bad opinion man

You know very well that its hardly easy at all to pick those people out. If you want to limit access so bad then you'd have to look into blanket laws, a lot of gun owners are not going to be willing to give up their semi-automatic firearms because of some wackjob doing a shooting.

>having opinions

Well what is your solution to the issue? You can't ban guns and you can't restrict them without pissing an extremely large demographic of people off. On the other hand taking away all checks and restrictions on firearms is about just as bad of an idea if not worse

If you think there is truly a large amount of people out there ready to "shoot anything that moves towards them" then what would you suggest the government do about it?

I would hate it if guns got banned, purely because I love owning guns and would be mighty pissed off if they suddenly became illegal because some crack-pot douchebag felt like gunning down some innocent people. I wouldn't mind some stricter background checks though.
