Author Topic: what's the issue with your school?  (Read 3412 times)

Problem is too many crazy people.

On the bus, bus driver is always yelling to boys at the back (one was just told to sit at the front tomorrow)

Lunch, too many people are loud when dismissed out the halls.

Weirdos are down the hall making high pitch sounds, and just stuff to scare/annoy people.

This is a junior high school (7th + 8th grade) and everyone cusses every 5 seconds
I've never said one cuss word.

butchered english all around
even by some of the teachers

you better start now or else you're never going to make it in the real world

Literally who said so

I've failed Character Design twice (the first time because of me, the second time because of major project), and I'm supposed to graduate next year. Because Character Design is a two term class (it has the same number of units as a 1 term class but is split in half), I now have to do 2 terms next year which means I have to pay for them and I have to wait until 2017 to graduate.

The college won't offer me a class switch to make up the units faster or anything else. forget off.

well you are the one that failed them right not the school

I 100%'d Assessment 1 and was given under 50% for Assessment 2 (even though the teacher said "you had everything perfect until the last bit of the submission"). Since I couldn't pass the class at that point (due to weighing, Assessment 2 is like 80% of the total class mark) I was then pushed back to restart in Term 3/4.

For some reason, they never made me do Assessment 1 or 2 again but they also didn't count my marks again, so I failed the whole class basically on the first day for my second attempt.

I have no loving idea why a Game Design class has Character Design as a REQUIREMENT when Programming is an elective. Character Design is drawing and 3D sculpting. Completely irrelevant to what I need to do.

have you not written a complain to them about that? seems like a broken system or they misunderstand what should be taught

now I don't know you, but if you don't have any prior experience with design then its ass that you have to do it, completely unfair

Too many butthurt pseudo-intellectuals. One loving edgelord from Sand Springs made a Twitter account in his team's name and starting blasting off n-bombs at the football players after we played them. Don't get me wrong, they're starfishs, but for like 3 days, everyone kept painting every single one of the Sand Springs Sandites as tribals and used the Twitter account to make a case for racism. Not to mention the whole debacle last year about the LGBT poster that got torn down, and the suspension of everyone who liked the post about it. My school is the top of the public schools, with a strong, dare I say, Social Justice presence.

It's an excellent school, don't get me wrong, just some of the people who go there annoy me. There's also the feminist gang that ignores the other feminists because neither of the groups are "real feminists" in each others eyes. Also, the school is predominantly black, but with still a hint of privilege.

I've talked to the heads of department about it. The issue is that the college is on the shift to a proper university, so they have to use the approved course-work as set by the Government who change course-content once in a million years.

It's kind of my fault for choosing a visual design school over a proper programming course, but this is the only college/uni in NSW that has a 3 year game design course, and my scholarship fund would only pay out if I did a 3 year course.

Well here's how mine goes
(my school has 3 classes each term so you will only see 3 classes)
1st period: PE, listen to people scream in the locker room at the beginning and end of the period. People start screaming vines too during the period.
2nd period: Math, listen to people scream vines and the whole room starts talking loudly when we are doing an assignment. Have to to teach a dumbass what the teacher just said today again. Even worse the teacher does nothing about it. Hell i'm surprised I have a B+ in the class.
Lunch: More screaming and vines.
3rd period: Science, not that bad but the teacher just shows us power points and makes us read from the book and doesn't teach us anything. Maybe a major project every month but thats it.

Here in this thread we see just how broken the American education system is. Hooray -____-

Story time because I'm in queue for a game.

New student at my school comes in three weeks ago. "her" name is F, but I put the word her in quotes because she's a female currently transitioning to a male. Now, I've told stories about how my school is stupid in the past, but again, I think this story is completely relevant. My friend S and I are currently doing better eating/conditioning stuff and we were talking about how we've been feeling a lot better and F overhears and is irate. F is about the same height as me, but at least 100 lbs over me, and as such, is obese. F is upset and asks me "Do you think you're healthier than me because you're not fat?" and I replied that yes, I thought my lifestyle would be considered much healthier (exercise, dieting, conditioning, vs none of the above for F) which prompted F to be very upset and waddle at top speed down the hall to the dean. I was called in and told that what I said was rude and that I would receive an in school suspension if F ever is offended by me again in the near future.

Apparently somebody butting into my conversation and then being upset when I give an opinion when prompted is grounds for disciplinary action. Ty school.

I walked into the bathroom one day and was offered the last bit of a joint.
