Why should Tony have to sit around and wait while someone takes days to contact him? It gives a generous amount of time to contact him. Someone wins a game, waits around to claim it, other people can't have it.

It's like a doctor's appointment rule. Doctor's set up several appointments, and if you have other plans, you have to contact them within a certain timeframe to cancel to avoid a fee. It's unfair to other people who want to see that Doctor that you just didn't contact the doctor to cancel.

Ok, first of all, a giveaway is definitely not like a doctor's appointment, I don't know why you would even make a simile like that.

Second of all, you don't know what the person is doing at the time. I may have finals week and I may be a bit booked up because of studying and tests. But oh well, boohoo, I was too late to claim jack stuff. You don't need to be that much of a richard for an online giveaway for video games. Have some patience, even I had the patience to give the people in my giveaway their gifts.

And why can't you contact them, the contest requires you to give a link to your steam profile.
And if contacting your steam profile is so important, why isn't it listed in the giveaway's OP or your blf profile?

Why are you comparing this to a doctor's appointment?
Do i really have to explain to you how giving someone a game on steam and a doctor's appointment are different?
Do i really have to explain to you how appointments and "contact me within 24 hours" are different?
Besides, doctor's don't intentionally hide their appointment date in fine print and say nothing about even having an appointment date.
There is nothing preventing tony from giving someone their game if they contact him after 24 hours have passed.

It would be equally valid to say that several users on this thread are endlessly harping on me.
Honestly, i'm a bit uncomfortable having my actions on this thread being compared to tony's actions in the fallout 4 thread, as i feel they are very different.
I don't doublepost the same thing said in slightly different ways in a board where you can edit posts.
I don't repeat myself with nothing prompting me to do so when i don't get enough attention.
I don't try to get as much mileage as i can out of petty and stupid complaints like "this game doesn't include rape, it's so unrealistic" or "weapons that have no reason to not exist pre-war are in pre-war safes, this game is so unrealistic"

I got my 50 dollars back from Playstation because of an issue that was their fault.
Also the lootcrate I didn't want also finished my last minute christmas shopping that I was never intending to do anyways.
I still come out on top!!!

If you really didn't want to wait for people to contact you, then why didn't you make the rule big and obvious so that people knew to contact you ASAP?

Either you're a complete spastic or you're a stuff who hid a rule to purposefully make it difficult for people to claim your <1$ games.

And it's almost certainly the latter, because you also wouldn't give people the slightest help in knowing they had won, like editing the OP with their name, or even putting their name in the title.
To return to CaptMeat's awful brown townogy, this is the Doctor arranging an appointment with you, but not actually telling you when it is, then refusing you your treatment when you don't turn up.

Also, fine print is small, but noticeable, and at least readable without a magnifying glass. 1pt text is not.
